It was the only way out

To accept defeat

It was hard to

So I beat a retreat,

Hoping!



It grew slimmer and slippery

Fanged with gloom and despair

This is what I dreamt of, aghast!

Aye, a night filled with fear

Quaking!



“Sounds from the rear, drumming!

Take it rough and slippery

Take it, be quick

For with vengeance, does the time tick

Flee!”



Who will thou be?

“Do not stand to question

The sound grows louder

Quickly, set your foot in motion

Be quick!”



So I made a quick dash

Before the path buried its exit

Down and down I fell

Into the unending pit

That was the only way out

Darkness! Death!
