It's just a random short I came up with one rainy day.
Cannibal

Eyeing him from across the room, I slowly eased myself onto the make-shift "dance floor." I knew he wasn't paying any attention to me at all. I had requested a song minutes before, and during the wait I gave myself a pep talk. I definitely wasn't going to be able to chicken out now. Questions buzzed in my head; why the fuck was I even here? How did I end up getting invited? Maybe it was because I had connections with perhaps, one of the hottest chicks in school, who happened to be my best friend. Or, my brother was captain of the senior's football team. Who knows, but for all that I knew, I was here now, and I had to make most of what I had at the moment.
'The Birds and The Bees' by Breathe Carolina came on, blaring out the surround-sound system, it's new age beats echoing through the crowded house. Every inch was occupied by idle bystanders with their red plastic cups.
The chorus signalled to me that it was my time to shine. Hips moving, my hands above my head, lip-singing only to myself. Like anybody would notice anyways. Getting lowe and lower to the cream-colored carpet, multi-colored lights flashing, changing constantly. It would've normally made me light-headed, dizzy, but tonight I was lost in the music.
For once in my pathetic life, eyes were drawn to me. I was the focus of everyone, and not the butt of people's jokes. I wasn't a loser; more like a sociallite, in my fifteen minutes of fame.
The music got more intense; well, so did my dancing. Some daring boys ventured over to where I was, unsure of what to think or do. I recognized some of the faces, mostly popular hotties who ran circles around the cheerleaders.
Bryce Chambers, blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes, medium height. He had a sort of baby face, with the full lips and piercing eyes, minus the roundness around the cheekbones.
Connor Mead, brown hair, blue eyes. Built. No way for me to ever get caught with him.
Lex. (Sigh), nobody knew what his last name was for now, and he was deemed ultra "cool" because of his quiet demeanor. Lex had black hair, and really green eyes, but had the weirdest face to match - don't get me wrong, he was the most attractive person I'd ever seen. Inside and out, I imagined, but I'd never really know unless someone else filled in the blanks for me. Lex was separated from the group, yet he was the closest one to me. It felt like I had some magnetized thing inside me, and all these guys were the unfortunate little iron filings that were being pulled towards me against there will. Yet, Lex was the only one strong enough to resist it. There was another magnet hidden somewhere, I just had to find it and eliminate it.
Lex was right there, dangling himself unknowingly, but every time I reached out, he slipped through my fingers like air (hypothetically, of course.)
I casually angled myself, catching secret glimpses of Lex through my eye lashes. Another song switched, giving me another perfect excuse to continue dancing. Bryce suddenly broke the barrier keeping us a certain distance away from each other, and began to smoothly whisper in my ear, "Come on and grind with me," were the only words I had caught, although his voice was husky. I wondered how many girls had immediately fallen for something as simple as that: his amazing voice.
He calmly reached for my hand, his fingers slowly sliding down my wrist and blindingly twisting his fingers with mine. I watched him casually look towards his group of friends and nod, a smirk evident on his face, even in the brief darkness. I knew what this was: another quick hook-up for the weekend. Wow, I never expected anything like this to happen, so quickly especially, simply because I had practiced a few dance moves in the mirror. Maybe this legitly was going to earn me a spot on the populars list, because this had taken me way farther than I had anticipated.
When Bryce and I had settled in a corner of the room, father than anyone else, far enough so that we could barely hear each other, he actually had a look in his eye that he was subtly interested in me.
"I've never seen you around. Where'd you learn to dance like that?"
Surprise, surprise. Of course he doesn't see me; too damn busy following the prisses and girly-girls. So, what do I tell him? I guess it's time to create an alter-ego for me to eventually fall into the hands of. I'll lie, just for one night.
"I taught myself." It couldn't hurt to throw in a little truth.
"Really? You're the best I've ever seen."
"Practice makes perfect," I solemnly reply, purposely adding the double meaning in my words.
His hands slid down my waist, gently pulling me closer to him, his body tight against mine. Lex was stealing quick glances at us. Us alone in the corner. I pretended not to notice, but Bryce did completely and took advantage of it. Inching his head closer to me, tilting it mere degrees to the side, his hot breath tickling my neck. What to do now? My mind racked through the possible thing I could do. My simple answer was oh, but everything.
Our bodies were so closely touching, that I could barely breathe. Without even realizing, my lips were at his perfect throat, trailing kisses up to his jawline. Bryce followed suit, nibbling on my ear. I moved faster; as the rhythm of the pounding music accelerated. My heart was going to thud right out of my chest and fall onto the floor. I had to keep my cool, more than anything else right now.
I kissed his cheek finally, he did the same. It's like we were reading the other's thoughts, as we both paused, I was gazing into his light blue eyes.
Bryce leaned into me, until the tip of his nose touched mine. He pressed his tongue against my lip, all the while staring in my hazel eyes. I wrapped my arms around him, and gradually danced at a more "romantic" pace.
"Has anyone told you, that you have the prettiest shade of eyes?" Bryce asked, still pressing his head against mine.
"Nobody cared enough to notice." A flimsy lie.
"Well, there is a first time for everything, isn't there?"
Bryce tugged me into a long, slow kiss, my heart fluttering faster the longer he held me there. Heady breath filled my mouth, lips like candy against mine. I'd never been kissed by a boy before, and this was it. I definitely had to make it worthwhile. Like I said, my night to shine.
Bryce continued to hold me, blurring the rest of our surroundings. Oh my goodness, I couldn't believe it. He kissed me again and again, pressing his mouth hard to mine.
He steered me away from everybody, stopped kissing me for a moment and dragged me upstairs.
