Aliens begin tagging a local community with collars |
| Aliens arrive and focus on a small town. During the night, the extraterrestrials abduct and look over random townspeople. When they put them back, the people awaken the next day to find strange technological collars around their necks. The collars will allow the aliens to monitor and track the wearer. The people find that they cannot remove the collars. More than that, they discover that the collar has a strange telepathic effect on the wearers and those around them. No matter how much they try, the people cannot discuss the collar. This goes for those who wear them, and those who don't and notice them. In fact, when they try to, they find themselves unable to speak. A few try and call the authorities, finding themselves unable to dial the phone when they go to contact them. The collar monitors the wearer and those around them, and telepathically blocks them from acknowledging their presence. The people who are collared are like animals in national parks who are tagged by forestry service agents. As bizarre as this is, it is only the beginning. After a while, the collars begin to do strange things to those who wear them. Completely at random, the collars dematerialize and exchange the wearers' heads. Suddenly, one person finds their head now switched with that of another collar wearer's. The telepathic properties of the collar begin to act in another way. The wearer is forced to live the life of the body they now find themselves on. The collared person must do as the person who's body he now has would normally do, to the best of their ability. Also, the person cannot panic or become upset because of their head-swapping. Those around them must also act as if this is completely normal, acknowledging only in the most basic way that their friend or family member now has another person's head. They are forced to accept that this new person will be taking over the roll of their former loved one. The aliens are not only monitoring the people, but seeing how they would do as other members in the community, by giving them the roles each other person has. They do this by giving them each others body. |
