A Sapphire Ocean

The longest coasts

stretch into the past.

We Walk onwards to eternity

as we wander

down the sandy shore

and our footprints tell our story.



The waves are calm

and the skies are brooding.

The sunlight, probing

through layers of cloud.



With a peal of thunder,

and a crack of lightning

a fishing boat is illustrated.

against a violent backdrop.



on the shore a figure walks.

idly idling, meandering about.

stopping to gaze into the horizon

or at a tell-tale cloud.



and suddenly, the boat,

once so steadfast

begins to rock



a crack of thunder

momentarily distracting

the man on the shore.



The waves begin to grow.

The sailor panics,

not knowing what to do

and the ship is abandoned

as the sailor loses his mind



the figure by now

has finally come to rest

and is sitting calmly

staring out into the

sapphire ocean.
