the truth

wake up in the morning,
put a happy face on
take a deep breath
pray nothing goes wrong.

i blend into the crowd,
but stand out anyway.
so i stand tall and walk proud,
and laugh so no one knows,

that the smile you see
hides the pain i feel
with no way to escape
a nightmare that is real

made it through another day
of pretending to be alright
