Inspirational holiday article for encouragement to remember the important facts of life. |
Every year as Christmas comes near, we find ourselves searching for that perfect gift for each of our loved ones and friends. Frantically we find each gift and mark it off of our list, until at last its done (hopefully in time). Now the day has come and you are surrounded with family and friends to share in the blessing of giving, and someone reminds you that this day was started first and foremost by God. After all, without the gift of His Son, Christmas would not exist at all. With this in mind, have you ever thought since God gave us His Son as a gift, what could we possibly give as a gift back to Him. He's God, doesn't He already have everything. Streets of gold, walls of His city are jasper, the gates are made of pearl, He even has a sea of pure crystal. With all that God has in His possession, there must still be something that He must want, but what could it be? What could it be? When He sent His Son, it was for one purpose, to redeem mankind from the sins that separate us from Him. That's it! That's what God wants for Christmas, us, you and I. All throughout His Word, He speaks of His love toward us. He wants to be apart of our lives, to express His love in and through us. This year, as each gift is unwrapped and received, unwrap your heart as a gift to God. After all, as long as a gift remains wrapped up and bound in paper and bows, it's value has not yet been revealed or received to be fully enjoyed. Let God rejoice, as you receive His Son, He receives YOU! Have a Blessed Christmas that will last eternally. Merry Christmas! |
