listening to music
sunlight flickers through pasty window
spills on the floor like
a kaleidescope of constant colour

lyrnard quietly beats the play
as I lay here idly idling away
my biggest choice is
stones or dylan
a sign goes up
offically chillin

moments like these
hang in the air
when the day is easy
and we just dont care
would be so nice if
this moment I could share

Hootie now takes the floor
damn I could listen for evermore
my goodbye girl I've known a few
and closing time I sing to you

whilst Newton faulkner catches dreams
time passes by instantly
or so it seems

music is words painted in the air
once inside your head
remain lodged there
for every mood and everything you feel
a song
a lyric
will appeal

sometimes you hear music from afar
its the key you need to unlock the jar
and a memory comes flooding back
occupies your thought
like bricabrac

music is a heady potion
fired by all manner of emotion
celebrate all that you hear
one day we all will be not here
