It's a poem!
Like a wolf returning to its lair
my eyes survey all that is there
faithful walls take prudent stare
time again to take that chair

taken time to look around
bend a smile out of a frown
with few words I can but see
a future maybe held for me

so tramp the dust, and push the mop
daylight now for dark we swap
come along and bring a smile
Pull up that chair and stay a while

with keen ears and muted lip
impart to me your lone hardship
or make me smile with tales of joy
of a woman, place, thing, or toy

let your words wring out loud
or whisper as if held in a cloud
quietly to draw me near
I do not bite so have no fear

for this place is refuge for all
a quiet place
a port to call
a place to laugh
a place to sigh
even sometimes a place to cry

so do your worst
write your rote
give me a future famous quote
I will look you in the eye
bid you adieu when its goodbye
