Fear

You consume me.
Like a vast and turbulent sea.
With small bursts of confidence I venture on,
Hopeful that I won’t do wrong,
Hopeful that I reach my goal,
That I not become a worthless soul.
How is it that I not become
Trapped either by ego or diffidence for one?
It is you that I fear,
You and only you.
