Our Perfect World

Lazy summer morning comes swimming into view
Pristine lake glistens under resplendent sky of blue
Evergreens recall winter’s snowy charm
As we while away the hours in each other’s arms
Until night creeps over mountaintop between the pages of a book
Bringing melodic voices above ivory keys as you steal just one more look
Then laughter chases dawn again into the waiting moon
And a shared kiss and whisper promise me, “I will be with you soon.”
