Celebrate summer, the days are too few.
Summer

Summer's truth is faithful,
it comes but once a year.

Its hazy skies are heat induced,
mirage of waves are proof.
They ripple up as if to say
my home is in the blue.

Scantly clad we embrace this heat,
Summer's days are all too few.

Baseballs, beachballs, waterguns and pop.
A fishing pond, a swimming hole -
Summer's gifts for you to use.

My faithful friend you bring me back
to days of simple joy.
Of hide and seek from dusk till dark
and fireflies in a jar.

Morning grass still wet with dew
tickles between your toes.
A summer breeze brings jasmine sweet
to satisfy your nose.

Simple truths of a faithful friend,
you come but once a year.
