Jumping-mountain, a mantis, is out hunting when he becomes the hunted.
The sky was gray and dark, rain was coming.  Jumping-Mountain clung to the grass waiting, children played on the mountains of strange rock. Sweet fragrances of grass and decaying wood filled the air.

A grasshopper hopped treacherously close.  Jumping-Mountain remained motionless, swaying with the grass. He was not Jumping-Mountain he was grass blowing in the wind.

Grasshopper sat resting, unaware of the danger he was in.  Jumping-Mountain struck!

Grasshopper being startled leaped with his legs, soaring far from Jumping-Mountain's grasp, sending warning calls where ever he went.

With irritation Jumping-Mountain turned and looked for a new place to hunt.  A young man, with a black dog walked down the burning black desert.  The man was pushing a huge black and red creature.  The boy grabbed the creatures hair and pulled it, the creature roared with pain.  The angered creature surged forward destroying everything in its path.  With horror Jumping-Mountain saw the creature level the grass forest, as it raced back and forth with great speed.

It's anger seemed to never be satisfied, for it never ceased it deafening roar.

Within moments it had already leveled a huge part of the grass forest.  A realization came to Jumping-Mountain.  This was the monster of death, the Destroyer.  He had to get out of this place.  To late the Destroyer was already coming for him.  Jumping-Mountain jumped and climbed desperately to get out of the destructive path the Destroyer was creating.

The Destroyer roared its unending roar as it passed Jumping-Mountain.  Powerful winds surged from under the Destroyer, threatening to pull Jumping-Mountain from the earth and into its gaping mouth.

Roaring with rage the Destroyer turned and came back howling that its pray had escaped him.

Moments became hours minutes became days.  Jumping-Mountain would barley escape just to find the Destroyer coming again.

Jumping-Mountain was growing weary the Destroyer had chased him up the mountain, its seemed it would never rest, always returning coming for Jumping-Mountain.  Jumping-Mountain could hear its roar returning. The Destroyer would be here within moments.  Jumping-Mountain again raced up the mountain.  The Destroyer came roaring behind him, its all too familiar sucking wind ripping at Jumping-Mountain.

Jumping-Mountain's grip was failing him, he could feel his forearms sliding up the grass, in a moment he would be sucked into the gaping mouth of the Destroyer.  With a ripping sound the grass gave way.

Screaming wind tore Jumping-Mountain into the mouth of the Destroyer.  Jumping-Mountain spun around in the Destroyers mouth for what seemed like an eternity. And to Jumping-Mountains amazement he found himself be spit back out of the Destroyer's mouth down the mountain.

The Destroyer continued down its destructive path; oblivious that Jumping-Mountain had escaped him.

With a sigh of exhaustion Jumping-Mountain fell into a dreamless sleep.
