In the past you had everything you dreamed of. Now everything you had is gone.
I’m drunk off all the memories
And the lies that there’ll be more
But the stars in the sky call my bluff
And my glazed over eyes evens the score

So I’m left alone in these empty streets again
Retracing all our cherished paths
Now they’re worn down into the gravel
And our footprints turn to dust and ash

My life with you is played on a loop
With each scene our frames become ghosts
Casting silhouettes that fade and disappear
As they waltz the streets beneath lampposts

Disenchantment called out a toast
And one last time the glasses were raised
To nostalgia denial and psychosis
With future despair may you never be fazed

Drifting off as I down the last of the bottle
Life seemed to pass as I closed my eyes
Opening them to find that you’re still gone
And inside just a little more of me dies

Dreams dissolve into reality
Awaken to songs we once sang away
And I light one up for old time’s sake
As the record spins memories begin to play

Like cigarettes our spark burns out
Leaving darkness and trails of smoke behind
The sweet smell of young love smothered
As our hearts were drowned in wine
