Welcome, dear reader of mine. Let's talk about a darker subject. Suicide. It's very, very sad. But this story is of a more disturbing self-induced death. This one takes place in a field. Next to a very disturbing, decaying, black tree.

Japan, the top of a grassy Hill.

'Why can't I get this god damn problem?' Anthony asked himself. He was working on an assignment that he was two weeks pass due on. If he didn't get this math problem finished he was basically screwed. No High School graduation, no college, and another year of his class. 'Why can't I get this? It doesn't make sense. I take the stupid equation, divide it by X and... What the hell is X!?' Anthony began to grow frustrated. The sun began to go down, and the full moon began to show. He turned around quickly, hearing a strange noise. "Is someone there?" He asked. Nowon replied. 'Great, I'm starting to hear stuff now.' He thought to himself.

About an hour went by and he still worked on his problem. He was soley dedicated to figuring it out, because the next day it was due. 'Come on Anthony, come on. You can figure this out. Come on.' He said again. 'You got yourself transferred to your dream country, not many guys can do that, so you can figure this stupid problem out! I know you can!' He incouraged himself. "No you can't" A voice said from behind him. Anthony turned around quickly. "Okay! Who's there!?" He called out to the voice. Like before, there was nothing.

"You can't do this, and you know you can't. Just give up." The voice said again. Anthony sat back down and concentrated on his problem. 'I'm not letting these guys get the better of me.' He said to himself. But the voices would not stop. They continued to antagonize him. "Just give up" They said, more voices appearing. "Just give up." They continued. "Just give up and It will all go away."

"Shut up!!" Anthony screamed, covering his ears. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!!" He shouted. The voices continued to chant. Anthony layed on the ground in a fetal position. "Shut up.... Just shut up... I know I can't get this... I cheated to get where I am now.... Just please... Please shut up..... I can't do this... I can't..." He said, beginning to cry. "I just want it to go away." Anthony told the voices. And after he said that, a decaying hand held out a gift for him.

"It will make all the pain go away Anthony." The voice said. Anthony stared at the gift, and took it. He climbled atop the black, decaying tree and used the nuece given to him to hang himself. That was the end of Anthony. Poor, poor guy.

Later the next day, when the police found him, one of the rookie's asked, "What would've made this kid kill himself? He seemed to have a pretty decent life."

An older cop just smiled and said, "It wasn't the kid. It was that tree. We call it the suicide tree."

The rookie looked at the older cop. "Why do you call it that?'

"Because it's said Death himself planted it ages ago. And whoever comes near it for a long time will feel the calling of Death."

So, let's end the story with that. Now, what do you think. Was Anthony's suicide just stress brought on by his late assignment he struggled to figure out. Or was it something more sinister from beyond the grave?
