This is an essay I wrote for a contest and I won so.
[Introduction]
"Dr. Gizel Commaton, Video Diary 246. I was out in the woods searching for herd and I came across a blue sparkly paste. It was new to me so I took some samples, now I don't understand what is hap-" she fell to the floor.
The sirens echoed in the Nation Forrest. I looked around appalled, thousands of Police, Ambulances, and Fire vehicles where here. The lights blinded me and the many sirens almost made my ears bleed. What is going on here? Is this woman really this important?
Inside i saw a red-headed, tall, thin, beautiful woman laying on the ground. On the computer was her web camera that had been stopped by the police, it was obviously live to a website. She must have been on it when she was killed, the odd thing was that she has no marks on her ivory skin anywhere. No marks showing she had been beaten or strangled. What exactly happened here? No witnesses, no blood, NO EVIDENCE! What was I going to do?After talking to a few of the police officers there I told them to bring the body to the crime lab. I'll get the doctor to look at her, I thought to myself. I took another look at the young woman, then left the trailer. The cold winter wind burned my skin. There was no escaping it, even through my many layers of clothing.
Back at my office I looked over the pictures of the crime scene. This is so unusual, I've never seen anything like this, I grasped.
"Rough case," I looked up to see my ex-partner, Timothy. " I've never seen anything so mysterious. Your mind seems to be entwined with it."
I looked back down at the pictures ignoring his comment. Looking at the picture i noticed something i hadnt notice before. On the lab tablet here was a vile, it was full of blue paste.
"I'll be back, don't wait up," I told him jokingly.
I quickly drove down tot he trailer where Dr. Commaton held her experiments. When I got there I notice something wrong, the caution tape had been ripped off the door. It now laid tattered and crumpled on the porch. As I opened the door I could smell chemical fumes, the pungent aroma make me back away. I covered my mouth and nose with the sleeve of my sweater and walk into the horrid smelling trailer. Before I could even flip on the light switch I was grabbed around the neck. I threw myself backwards onto the floor, landing in between the legs of my attacker. I recovered into a standing position, grabbing my gun as he groaned in agony. When I flipped the light switch to see the face of my attacker my face turned white. It was my ex-partner that laid on the ground rolling and groaning in pain.
"What are you doing here," I shouted at him. He didnt reply, i looked around the now lit room. Everything was broken. Test tubes, beakers, and all other imaginable thing lay shattered on the floor. i glanced over the bottles of chemicals on the floor, no vile of blue paste. I looked back at Timothy and observed him, there was a bulge in his pocket. I kicked him and he rolled to his stomach where I handcuffed him then lifted him to his feet. I shoved his body into a bookshelf and emptied his pockets. There it was, the vile. Opening it I smelled the hit of arsenic, arsenic in sparkly blue playdough.
"Why do you have this," no reply. "Did you kill Gizel Commaton?"
"You have no idea," he scoffed then let out a laugh. "Did you seriously think your could trust me?"
It crushed me, this could have been me. What had she done that would make him want to kill her? Then I remembered, she dumped him for being a workaholic and a jerk. He told me that the last thing he said to her was she would regret it of she lived long enough. How could i be so stupid...
"Timothy Hanson, you under arrest for he murder of Gizel Commaton."
