Contest entry on why I chose my username and handle.
The Name Game

We all do it. Someway or other we play the name game. We name our pets, our kids; we even give nicknames to those who already have names. Man's quest to label and classify continues. Then there's the websites that require a username. The frustrating dilemma of finding another name for yourself that is unique and captures your personality. When I chose mine I naively typed in my first name. It never occurred to me that the billion other people out there would actually have my name. So then I added my last name. Nope. I added my age, birthday, middle name...Face red and fingers cramping...Then suddenly a thought. Latin! Of course, surely no one would use Latin. So I opened a new tab and googled "Latin". I found a sight that I typed in a word and it translated it to Latin. Excellent! Now, what word? I thought, "Who am I?" Like a philosopher I delved down deep in search of the answer. After awhile, I decided that I was nothing. My whole existence was because of one man. If it wasn't for Him I would have died long ago. So I looked up indebt. Aha, "accipio". Thus was born Accipio2christ. My handle was much easier. This was a writing website, and I felt hopeful at the time. Hopefulwriter was born. Although today I think I'm more of a Lamewriter. The game continues.
