The divorce was finale almost 5 weeks ago
Can you please come to terms you have to let go
We are still arguing, you win I concede
I’m waiving the white flag how much must I bleed

I’m guilty; I’m selfish what more you acquire 
I’m selfish for not conforming to the world you desire
I existed in your world for more than 12 years
My goals and my dreams you didn't hear

Did you understand your idea I could not be
I didn’t submit to your God’s will for me
You said you were committed and met me half way
We were miles apart I’m sorry to say

Unfortunately we reached that fork in the road
The commitment we had had begun to erode

Separation widened as we faded in the night

I have tried through the years to find contentment
