Friends

True Friends

We go through life meeting people of all sorts. Some we keep as friends; some as bosom friends. If we have two or three of this sort we are truly blessed. It's been said 'to have a friend one must be a friend', what a simple but profound statement! The few dear close friends I've gained elevate me. No, not in the sense of being better than others but their examples inspire me to loftier goals of deep love, generosity, kindness, compassion and other endearing qualities. Be the kind of friend you would like to have or as Jesus put it, 'treat others as you would like to be treated', or as Mahatma Ghandi said, “I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings." I'm so thankful to all my friends of varying degrees for the many things they've taught me. I feel so rich!
