The Day Of

After 2 months of vigerious practice recording and costume fittings it finally came down to the night before the concert. Ken, Josh, Drew, Mom and I had gone to New York where the concert was held. Lionel had us practice one more time. We met all the other students from the other schools we got to see their acts. They were all really good. Then it was our turn to get up there and preform for them. Oh they all loved it they all even joined in with the chours which gave me an idea.
"Hey Lionel." I said motioning him over to me.
"Yes Paige?" He asked.
"Are you thinking what im thinking?" I asked.
"You mean having all the students sing the chorus for we are the world?" He asked smiling.
"Lionel I like the way you think." I said smiling.
"Ok I will go and tell everyone." Lionel said. I smiled. After that nights practice we all went back to the hotel. Mom Ken and I got one room and Drew and Josh got the other.
"Goodnight Paige we'll see you tomorrow." Josh and Drew said in unison.
"Goodnight boys." I said heading into my room.
"So Paige you nervous about tomorrow?" Mom asked unpacking our clothes.
"Yeah I am I mean this is going to be LIVE!! Of course im nervous not to mention like the billions of fans that are going to be there and Michael WATCHING me!!!" I said.
"Oh sweety you have met michael you have sang and danced with michael, how is doing different songs going to be any different?" Mom asked.
"Well I only sang and danced for the songs that we were going to do together. And he corrected me and helped me with that. What if I mess up or screw on a move or miss a beat or what if im off on pitch?" I asked sitting down on the bed.
"Paige you have great talent, if you just go out there and have a great time, Michael is going to think your great. Dont think about messing up and you wont. Just relax and have fun." Ken said hugging me. I nodded and smiled. He was going to be a great stepdad i could feel it.
It was about 8:30 at night. I turned on the TV. Mom and Ken went out to see the town and I just stayed here thinkin about tomorrow. Thinking about MJ. Thinkin about everything that i had worked on. Soon mom and Ken came back.
"Well Paige its time for bed Lionel wants you there early tomorrow i dont know why but he does." Mom said.
"Yeah ok im tried anyways hehe well goodnight Mom good night Ken." I said laying down on my bed.
"Goodnight sweet heart dream sweetly." They both said. Then they went off to sleep. I was dreaming sweetly until i heard a knocking at the door. I woke up because my mom and ken were heavy sleepers I was a very light one. I got up and looked at the clock it read 5:30 am. 'Who could be here at 5:30 in the morning?' i asked myself heading for the door. I looked out the little peek hole it was Lionel. 'Lionel what is he doing here?' I asked opening the door.
"Yes Lionel what could you possibly need at 5:30 in the morning?" I asked with tired eyes.
"OH sorry Paige I didnt mean to wake you actually i wasnt meaning to look for you at all, i was actually looking for Michael's room, do you know where it might be?" He asked.
"Yeah go down the hall it should be room 423." I said pointing down the hall.
"Thanks again sorry to wake you." Lionel said.
"No problem why do you need MJ anyway?" I asked.
"Oh I just need to tell him something, nothin about the show or anything just need to speak with him about something." Lionel said. I nodded.
"Ok bye." i said shutting the door and heading back to bed. I went right back to sleep dreaming about later today about how i wouldnt mess up because i just need to have fun. Soon I was awaken by the door again. Only it was ok because i was about to get up anyway. I figured it was Drew and Josh, Mom and Ken had been gone for a while because I heard the door shut at about 6:15 it was now 7:00 am.
"Coming." I yelled. I ran to the door. I looked through the peek hole. It was Michael. I opened the door.
"Hey Michael, do you need something?" i asked.
"Hey Paige umm i heard from your mom that you were a little nervous about tonight. Well sweety dont be. I heard you were worried that i would get upset if you messed up. Oh sweety please dont be really. Im not going to judge you." He said. I felt so relieved.
"OH good. Im so relieved I was worried about that all night long." I breathed with a huge sigh of relief.
"Hehe well ill see you at the show tonight." Michael said hugging me.
"Ok bye." I said huggin him then shutting the door. I quickly got dressed and went across the hall to get Josh and Drew and their lazy butts up.
"Hey you lazy bones get up." i said knocking on the door.
"Ok Paige we'll be right out." I heard Josh say to me.
"Alright but hurray we need to eat then Lionel wants us there by 2:30 and I want to see the Empire State Building before that time comes." I said. Soon they were out dressed and all. We all went down to the lobby i wasnt very hungry so i just grabbed a banana and we all sat down at the table. Since we were with Lionel he said we could get what we wanted from the menu but i wasnt going to be all that picky. After we all ate breakfast we headed off to take a cab. Ken and Mom said that they would be out until it was time to go to the show and we knew what time we needed to be back here for Lionel to pick us up. So she gave us freedom to walk the town we all had our cell phones so it was all good.
"Ok boys what do you want to do first?" I asked.
"Well what do you want to do?" Drew asked.
"Well i would love to see the empire state building but that only looks really cool at night so im up for anything." I said.
"Well lets just go and walk around anyone bring money?" Josh asked.
"Nope I forgot it in the hotel." Drew said.
"Ugh boys. I have money come on lets catch a cab." i said smiling.
"Hello kids where too?" The cab driver asked.
"Umm we dont really know. We arent that fimilar with the city." I said.
"Oh well we have some very nice places to shop and look around." The driver said I could tell he was from Queens because he had that accent.
"Oh yes im sure. What do you recomend?" I asked.
"Well how about Lomans you can find different places around here why dont I drop you off there then you can walk around.?" he asked.
"Sure that would be great is it close to this hotel?" I asked.
"Yes it is about 8 blocks down but you will never get there if you walk on foot." He said. I nodded and we all got into the cab. I slid in first then Josh did then Drew. I secretly had a crush on Josh. I mean he was so cute and funny and he really got me and what i liked. Drew liked some other girl and i wasnt all that into him as a crush.
After we had gotton to Lomans i had paid the driver and we got out. We decided to look around for a while it was now 9:30 in the morning and there was a rush. I got a tad scared with all the people. Not really of the people but the fact that one of us could get lost. I pulled them both into Lomans.
"OK boys there are a LOT of people walking these streets we need to stay together and if one of us gets lost we txt one other person and we meet at the hotel we dont meet somewhere in NY we meet at the hotel ASAP got it?" I sounded firm. The nodded because if one of us got lost i would surely lose it. "Alright good lets just go look around for a while." I said. They nodded and asked if i wanted to stay in Lomans and look around for a while. I shook my head no because i didnt really want to look for clothes. So we walked for a while then we stopped to get some lunch then it was 2:15.
"Ok boys we need to go now we have 15 mintues to get back to the hotel before Lionel has a fit." I said hailing a cab. They nodded and we told the driver where to take us and in a flash we were back at the hotel. Lionel was waiting for us up by our rooms.
"Hey all you ready to go?" Lionel asked.
"Yes but Lionel why do we have to be there earlier then everyone else?" Josh asked.
"Well do you want to meet all the stars?" Lionel asked.
"YES lets go go go COME ON slow pokes im dying of old age lets go." i said already to the elevator at the end of the hall. They all laughed at me. "Oh dont laugh at me." I said sticking my tounge out at them. They laughed and we rode down stairs to the lobby.
"Oh wait ill be right back i forgot something." i said.
"O Paige hurray please. We'll wait right here." Lionel said.
"Ok ill be right back." I said heading back up to my room and grabbing the bag of gifts that i had for Lionel, Drew, Josh, Michael, Stevie, and Paul. Soon I was back down in the Lobby.
"Whats with the bag?" Lionel asked.
"You'll see when we get there." I smiled.
Soon we arrived at this HUGE statium. Where people were already waiting to get in. Oh i hardly could wait. This was a dream come true.
