There are a few quotations that I've sited in this, it was a Definition Essay for a Class.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
--1 Corinthians 13:4-7

It is also the root of all good…and evil. Why does anyone do anything if not for love? For love of life? For love of friends or family? For love of money? We do all these stupid things for love and what does it give back?
Words that should be a synonym for love but aren’t necessarily in a thesaurus under it include, but are not limited to:
Chaos - a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order.
Confusion - lack of clearness or distinctness
Insane - not sane; not of sound mind; mentally deranged
Madness - intense excitement or enthusiasm
  Compliments of dictionary.com

It’s just one of those things that whether you fight against it or for it you’re still screwed.
It’s just one of those things that you can’t live with and you can’t live without…you’re still miserable.
It’s just one of those things you can think of what defines it all you want, but you’re still never going to get there.
It’s just one of those things that if you can’t beat it and it won’t let you go along you’re still losing a never ending battle.

There should be “love scientists” or something, I bet you anyone whose heart is broken into a million pieces would go and get the “love vaccine”. It’s the lead cause of suicides, homicides, theft, DUI’s (love of alcohol in case you were wondering), abuse; whatever you want, its love’s fault.

    Love is merely madness...
--William Shakespeare

  …what does it give back?

EVERYTHING

You’re in a whirl pool going everywhere at once, you think you’ll never get out and you don’t care. You’re rushing around and you see people or things that used to be so important, so you start swimming toward them, but they’re not worth the time and effort, and they don’t feel all that great with them anymore because this whirl pool is the best ride of your life.
You think you’re about ready to drown, but you’re still going, you’re crying because it’s so great and terrible at the same time, and you know now that it can’t last forever, but you don’t care…you want to be here as long as you can.
It’s about ready to end, but you’re still in denial, why should it have to end when you can just get more…but no, this whirl pool can’t keep you for too much longer or it will crush you. You don’t care…you’ll go anywhere it takes you so long as you can be in its grip.
Your family members reach out for you in your time of need, but they’re in their own whirl pools now, surrounded by you…

It’s the high of your life you NEVER want to end.
It’s the drug you wish you ALWAYS had the money to buy.
It’s the addiction that will NEVER be sufficed.
It’s the party you wish was ALWAYS going on.
It’s the only wind that when present will NEVER make you cold.
It’s the ALWAYS that NEVER works out…
