A killer put away ten years ago, that has come back to haunt her and make her life hell.
Prologue

“You know how long I’ve been waiting for this” the voice said. Suddenly she could feel a knife resting against her throat. “Ten years, ten long years I’ve waited patiently and now the time has finally come”. She reached for her side arm but it was not there. What, how can that be, she always kept it on her. “You betrayed me Meaghan, now it’s time to pay”. Wait a minute, she knew that voice, it was Jonas, her old partner in Homicide. Ten years ago Meaghan had turned him in because he had murdered his wife. Being a detective he did a good job in covering it up and making it look like it wasn’t him, but in the end the truth was revealed and he was sentenced to 17 years .

“Jonas I had no choice, you murdered your wife in cold blood, what was I supposed to do?”
“Ah so you do remember me, that will make it so much better when I kill you. But first I think…”

She had taken the moment, he was laxed and his defenses were low, she lifted her left foot and kicked his shin with her heel, as he doubled over from the blow, she aimed another kick at his head. This one made him fall to the ground. Run Meg, don’t think just run. So she did, she ran as fast as she could. Damn her wardrobe, she was wearing a tan suit with a skirt as a bottom and heels, not exactly the best thing for running from a killer.

“Bitch. Get back here!” Oh no, he was chasing her. And that was a bad thing, the Jonas that she knew was a marathon runner, she had no chance. He was closing fast on her and she began to cry, still running as fast as she could. This was it, her life was really over, and there was nothing that she could do about it. She screamed as she felt his hand had grab her ankle and she fell, down to the cold hard ground and her world went dark.
