A short poem about overcoming your weaknesses to achieve something greater. Enjoy!
“Where He Stands”

Curtains rise,

A road of rocks downhill,

My cursed moonlight behind,

Your blessed sunlight straight ahead,

I haven’t worn white in awhile
and you look beautiful in your tux,

You stand and wait
a waterfall constructed for us,

On unbalanced feet
this dangerous road looks impossible,

Rocks unstable
Heels ready to collapse,

The moonlight beckons me back,

The wretched
cursed
comforting
moonlight,

It makes sense
sick logical sense,

What is left for me?

I belong—

And then you smile
A wonderful smile,

On unbalanced feet I journey
down to where you stand,

Because no matter how enthralling the moonlit call
I will go to where you stand,

Curtains rise,

Down the tricky road I go,

Going where my pain cannot follow,

On unbalanced feet.
