my first attempt at poetry 2010.
My heart sunk into my stomach when you grabbed my waist and pulled me

back

into your embrace.

It pounded in the pits of my core as you leaned your mouth down to my ear
and whispered "I will always love you" ever so faintly into my ear

Everytime you pronounced the L's your tongue grazed my ear

And my spine was jello.

The defening sound my my heart in my belly
And the sporatic, heavy air my lungs expelled
Prohibited me from giving you a response

But I loved you, my brain was screaming it so loudly in my head.

My limbs were shaking as you turned me around to face you.
Your limbs were strong and secure.

As I turned my head fell into your neck, and you dropped yours down so it, too, was at mine.

You kissed my neck.

My knees became too weak to hold me up.

But it didn't matter; you were holding on strong. And I did not fall.

And by some balancing act I could not comprehend,
You shifted my weight onto only one of your arms.
And with the other helped my neck hold my head up so I could look at your face.

Your face was like an angel.
Your eyes big and brown.
All sporatic breathing ceased; my breath was gone.

And as you dipped your face to mine,
I thought I was dreaming.
But your lips hit mine with perfect persicion.
And simultaneously opened the flood gates to my eyes,
and I let a single tear fall.
