After the incident in Vegas Raeven and David set out to find the mythical being Historian
Chapter 1
WELCOME TO ROME
Raeven awakened to the sound of the decelerating jet engines, looking out of the window she could see the beautiful city of Rome. Yawning, outstretching her hand shaking off the grogginess she saw the small gold band on her finger. She smiled as joy seared through her soul, remembering the ceremony three days ago. She looked to her right and saw David, sleeping like a baby, and she couldn’t believe that they was married. “Mrs. Raeven Isis Caine” she let the words echo in her head. She got up, not disturbing David, and made her way to the restroom, checking to make sure Koren was still securely in his seat. He was also asleep, the US marshals nodded indicating that they had no problems out of him.
She entered the bathroom and washed her face, again looking at the ring and being filled with joy. Smiling as the memory of their honeymoon graced her mind, the night that she will never forget. David’s soft and elegant touch on her body, his kisses slowly moving down her as he tasted her sweet sensual love, the way he grasped her as they made love through the night and awakening the next morning ready to face anything..
After she returned to her seat she ordered a cup of coffee for her and David. She kissed him on the cheek, stirring him a little, “David, honey we are starting our descent.” David agreed groggily but woke up the instant he smelled the coffee. Raeven giggled a bit then began to focus on the mission at hand, finding the person known as The Historian. “David, you think that The Historian is still here?” “He sure as hell better be.” “Not a lot is known about him, you saw it yourself in the records from the house. All that is know is that he resides somewhere here in Rome.” “Honestly babe, I think we should start with the Catholic church, I mean start with the Pope.” she looked at him and laughed, “Why do you say that?” “Well look at almost every supernatural/end of the world movies, who is usually present somewhere either in person, design, or symbolically.” “Oh David, you goofball.” “I’m serious, hell even in that video game….uh….Assassin’s Creed two the Catholic church was involved.”
“Are you two still trying to figure out who this Historian person is?” Koren spoke from two seats back. Raeven shot him a look that damn near froze him. Turning her attention back to David, “Fine if they are involved you get to say I Told You So.” The fasten seatbelts sign illuminated and the pilot announced over the PA system for all passengers to be in their seats with safety harnesses appropriately secured because they are doing their final approach.
Stepping off the plane they all couldn’t believe the beauty of the Fiumicino airport. Koren stayed behind with the five heavily armed marshals as Raeven and David went inside to rent the vehicles. They returned shortly with two sets of keys to two Mercedes S63’s. David instructed one of the marshals to ride with them and the other four take the second vehicle and they will rendezvous at the Stendhal hotel.
On the drive to the hotel Koren seemed to be on edge, “Koren, what the hell is your problem? Why are you so damn jumpy?” Koren didn’t answer, only kept looking around then said, “Something doesn’t feel right.” “Of course not you got double titanium handcuffs on ya and a high powered assault rifle in your face.” They finally made it to the Stendhal and got registered, got to their rooms and established very sternly that Koren would not leave the hotel without the supervision of either Raeven or David. Speaking to the marshals, “ Watch this slippery creep like a hawk.” they nodded.
Raeven and David sat out to find the oldest library in the city. Much to Raeven’s surprise the oldest known records for Rome was kept at the Pope’s personal library, one that remained hidden from the church. “Raeven darling, looks like I get to say…” “Don’t say it yet.” “Okay, Okay.” “We will come back tonight and enter under the cover of night.” David agreed and they began to pull away when David’s phone rang, he answered and put it on speaker, “I am glad to see you two made it here. You will no longer have to worry with that annoying little b*stard Koren, I have taken care of him. There will be no resurrecting for him this time.” Raeven’s short temper took over, “How do you know where the hell we are, more importantly who the hell are you?” the voice on the other end simply said in a monotone, serious voice, “I am the Historian. By the way Welcome to the beautiful city of Rome” then the line went dead. They quickly raced back to the hotel. The Mercedes slid to the front doors of the hotel, with weapons drawn Raeven and David ran into the building quickly hurrying to Koren’s room.
They knocked on the door but no answer, they busted the door in and swept the room. They found Koren’s body ripped apart and his head on a stake in the bedroom, the US Marshals that was there to protect him was slaughtered. “What the hell happened?” “I don’t know, how did anyone know we was here?” “I have no idea David, but I think we should do as much as we can before we head to the Vatican tonight.” They quickly went to work searching online for anything about The Historian and any floor plans available that would allow them to enter the Vatican. “Raeven, I found something here. It is based on myth but says something about…well I will just read it to you. The Historian, believed to be the oldest life form on the planet, was created before Adam and Eve. He was supposed to be God’s personal recorder, when Lucifer and his angels were cast from the heavens the fallen angels that stayed behind on earth took the Historian captive and locked him away. A little over eight hundred years ago he was freed from his prison and allowed to roam the earth, he is believed to reside in the city of Rome.”
“David, that is great information but still doesn’t give us a clue as to where to start looking. This is a massive city.” David sighed and scrolled down the web page, “Wait a second, here is a comment. I saw this creature, it looked human and had massive muscles covered in fur or hair it also had wings perhaps a good 8 foot wingspan. I saw this thing entering and exiting the ruins of the Coliseum.” “ How long ago was that posted?” “ Uh…let’s see, looks like it was posted two days ago.” “David, looks like we are going to the Coliseum tonight. We should get ready for a fight, because I don’t think we are the only one’s looking for him.” “Who the hell else would be looking for him?” “Possibly Akuma.” “Didn’t you kill him?” “We also thought Koren was killed in New York, and then you saw Damiaen get up and walk away. It is like no one really died except for Emilio. How much you want to bet that either Akuma or my Father is the one that freed this Historian.”

Chapter 2
Night at the Coliseum

Raeven and David slowly pulled up to the Coliseum, “David, I want you to be careful. We know nothing about this Historian. We don’t even know if there is any guards or traps.” David held up his gun as he slid the clip in. They stepped out of the car, their coats falling to the ankles and moving in the slight wind. Raeven looked toward the top of the Coliseum searching for any possible lookouts, “There is a storm moving in.” David shut his door and looked at Raeven, “Well guess we do as the Romans did” Together they walked to the entrance only to find a locked gate. David pushed on the gate, only applying enough pressure to snap the chain. “Raeven, I can’t believe how much stronger I am since you turned me into a vampire.” “Don’t get to cocky baby, I am still stronger than you.” He rolled his eyes, as they walked through the gate. They could here the wind whistling through the ancient structure, turning on their flashlights so they could see easier David swore he saw a shadow move from the light into the dark. “Raeven, I think I saw something move.” he whispered. She turned her light in the direction that David indicated but saw nothing.
He took out his Iphone and returned back to the same web page that he had been looking at earlier, he read another comment which said “I often hear screams, human and non human screams coming from the Coliseum at night. It sounds like rabid animals attacking people, I don’t know if the place is really haunted or not. All I know is that when the incidents are investigated there is never any proof that anything has happened” He whispered to her, “Rae, I think you should read this.” suddenly a growl seemed to race around the arena, then a screeching sound followed by a snarling heavy breath. David and Raeven got back to back with guns drawn searching the area but could see nothing. Something ran in between them, then they heard moans and creeks, followed by the snarling sound once again, more screeching, then a yell and roar. They heard something that sounded like a steady beating sound, like a massive heart floating right above them. They lifted their guns at the same time and opened fire but there was nothing there, deciding to comeback after doing more research they ran back to the gate.
They heard the sounds again as they reached the gate. Raeven jumped as a figure jumped in front of her, opening it’s mouth releasing a sound that sounded like a scream, cry, growl, and roar combined. She shot it point blank with her UV rounds, it had no effect on the creature. The creature grabbed Raeven by the throat and tossed her back into the arena. David shot the thing four more times, it picked him up and threw him into the second story of the Coliseum. Raeven found herself surrounded by at least three of the creatures, knowing her guns had no affect on them she drew her knives and waited for them to make the first move. As the creatures circled her she saw David standing on the edge of the second story, saw him pull his knives and dive. She took a deep breath slowing down everything in her mind as David forced his combat knife into the head of one of the creatures and he twisted breaking its neck. Raeven struck out at one of the creatures, missing it’s head by only a fraction of an inch, turning her hand she forced the knife into the back of the neck. The creature scratched her on the face, first the left then the right, the abdomen, the back then a punch to the face before jumping her and forcing her to the ground and snapping it’s teeth at her. A mouth full of fangs and jagged teeth. She punched it in the head multiple times until it finally became dazed and fell to the side, she grabbed her knife and stabbed it repeatedly. Even though the blood flowed like a river it stood up and spread its wings and screeched it’s war call. It ascended into the air and circled the Coliseum, dove straight toward her but was knocked out of the air by something massive. The other one coward back into the shadows as a loud ground shaking roar ripped through the night.
The bigger creature stood about eight feet tall, the wings was thick and leathery, and span at least eight feet. It landed in the center ring of the arena, “Why have you come here?” a voice boasted. “We search for the Historian.” “Who have you brought with you Raeven? He is not a vampire of the night, he walks during the day. You are the half blood, the human/vampire, with the strength of both and neither of the weakness” David made his way over to Raeven, “My name is David, now kindly tell us who the f*ck you are.” The creature covered it’s body with the large wings, and the silhouette shrunk down to a normal size and a man walked into the light wearing a heavy leather coat. “Why is it that you seek the Historian, what business do you have with him?” “You know that I am the half blood so surely you know why I seek the Historian.” “Follow me.” The man walked through an arch way and led them into the dark hallways of the damp, and drafty complex. They came to a dead end and he moved a single rock and the wall opened up exposing a long staircase leading to an underground area, the staircase lit with torches that time had forgotten. His voice echoed as he asked again, “Why is it that you seek the Historian?” Raeven answered, “I seek the Historian for answers to who my father was, who my sister is, why The House of Falling Sun wants me dead, why am I who I am?” The man stopped and turned around, “Can you not find the answers to these questions by searching the records kept by your leaders?” “No I can not, the records I/ we seek is only kept by the Historian.” He looked Raeven and David both over very closely, “Tell me what you know of this….Historian.” David spoke up, “We don’t really know anything for sure, just what we have read online.” “And what does the things online say?” David cleared his throat, “Well, the Historian predates Adam and Eve. He was supposed to have been created by God to record all of the events that happened regarding his creation. He was taken captive by some of the fallen angels that were forced to walk the earth. And that is pretty much it.”
Raeven butted in, “Also says that over eight hundred years ago he was freed to walk the earth.”
“You both are very smart, obviously you are very determined. I mean who would fly from Las Vegas all the way to Rome just to search for this mythical being.” Raeven grabbed his shoulder and he stopped, glared at her as she spoke, “Please, I know you are the Historian. Why must you continue to question us?” “You are not the first ones to come and visit me the last few days, I am being careful about who I give what information, I am sure you both understand that. Don’t you Agents Caine? Before you ask, Yes I do know that you are married.” The Historian led them to a very tall and thick wooden door, when he opened the door the smell of old and new books rushed out accented by the stench of ink and the aromatic incense. The walls were lined with books and scrolls covering every time period imaginable. One of the Historian’s servants led them into a large room decorated with beautiful middle eastern rugs and gothic statues. The room lit semi brightly by candles, it was like stepping back in time.
“Please sit, my master will be with you shortly.” the servant spoke as she poured them each a glass of wine, “feel free to eat as you will.” They sat at the table drinking the wine and looking at the very elaborate room decorated with some of the world’s most renown and famous paintings. The Mona Lisa, Last Supper are just some of the paintings displayed. The doors opened abruptly as The Historian pushed a cart into the room with three or four very thick books on it. He took one of the books off and placed it on the table, not a spec of dust flew into the air. “This book has the information on your family that you seek, although it may be hard to follow.” David and Raeven both spoke, “Hard to follow?” “Do you want me to read it to you or do you read ancient Arabic?” David and Raeven sat back down acknowledging the Historian to read it to them.
“Raeven, your bloodline is descendant of the Ancient Aithienah, she was one of the original fallen angels cast out of heaven with Lucifer. She was allowed to walk the earth and have the chance to the repent, she was deceived by Lucifer. She was different from all the others, she was the only one who could survive on the blood of animals instead of human blood. Also she was the only one able to mate with humans and have normal offspring. She give birth to a son who became king of Babylon, the son was out cast because of his anti political and pro God beliefs. He wondered for years, he aged very slowly because of his blood he was like a demi-god. He found his way to the country of England where he found refuge, changed his name to Nathaniel Irousla, he took a bride, gave birth to a son named Emilio Irousla, who then give birth to a son named Dante Irousla, he then took a bride gave birth to a daughter Raeven Isis Irousla.”
Raeven looked confused and then asked, “What does Akuma have to do with me and who is my sister?” “Quiet Raeven, Melissa, your mother was also the bride of Akuma. He had made her one of his s*x slaves, using his powers of mind control. He found out she was pregnant and banished her, erased her mind so that she didn’t remember her time with him. She give birth to a son before she met your Father. The child care system took him in because they deemed your mother unfit. When you was five years old Akuma found your mother again and r*ped her, impregnating her once again. After she gave birth to your sister, Raiyne you was drafted into a government program one that was started by your coven.” David questioned, “ So was the United States government founded by the Raven Rose coven?” “Yes David. Raeven if you need time to absorb this feel free to take one of the many bedrooms I have available.” “Sure, I do think I need to lay down for a little bit. I do have one human weakness, emotion.” The Historian closed the book saying, “Emotion is not a weakness Raeven, it is a strength and what separates you and David from the beast like Akuma.”
The Historian waved his hand and one of the servants approached Raeven and helped her up, Raeven kissed David goodnight and followed the servant. When she was gone David got up, “What can you tell me about a company called CynoTech? I know that they supplied all of the weapons and vehicles to the FBI but I noticed their mark on weapons in the Irousla armory.” The Historian lifted one of David’s guns without him knowing and pulled out the clip and looked at the symbol, “CynoTech, the world’s leading scientific company. They produced the most advanced weaponry through the years, also they hold a significant stake in the medical field. Speaking of which, you need to feed.” The Historian walked over to a walk in cooler and returned with a bag of blood baring the CynoTech symbol. ,”Here David, drink” David was compelled to open the bag and drank the blood feverishly. “I must bid you goodbye David, I have something I must take care of. Please both of you take care, you can start trying to find Raiyne by traveling to Russia. She is a very successful night club owner with nightclubs all over the world. Her clubs are simply called The Coven, but beware they are very short tempered and bloodthirsty animals.”
The Historian walked into the shadows and disappeared. “I guess we will set out in the morning.” David thought. He went to find Raeven’s room and went to sleep.

Chapter 3
Vodka, Vampires, and Blood

“So you said that Raiyne has nightclubs all over the world called The Coven?” David shook his head in agreement “Then tell me exactly why the F*ck we are starting to look for her in Russia?” Raeven was highly agitated the more she thought about the whole situation, “Rae, sweetie the Historian said we should start in Russia, this is where she calls home and where she opened her first club.” “Damn f*cker better be telling the truth.” “Baby why are you so b*tchy today?” “I don’t f*cking know what you’re talking about, F*CK! I’m so hungry.” Then it hit David, she hasn’t had any blood for almost a week. Her hunger must be kicking in and she is craving it. “Here Rae.” David cut his wrist and placed it at Raeven’s mouth, the scent of the blood drove her crazy and she drank just enough to decrease her craving partially. “Thanks babe, I’m sorry. It is like a drug, once I had it I have to have it, ya know.” David chuckled and shook his head, “We should be landing in Moscow soon, we will see what we can do about getting your fix.” “Don’t say it like that, you make me sound like a crack addict. It’s not like it’s LSD, PCP, COKE, METH or anything like that, I mean I have to have it if I want to remain strong.” David laughed some more, “Spoken like a true addict, and your right it isn’t like any of those drugs you named. It is something new called DNA.” They both had a good laugh about it as the beautifully ornate city of Moscow hazily came into view through the fog.
After landing David renteda car while walking to the car Raeven said, “David, you said that the Historian told us to come here to find Raiyne, how the hell are we supposed to find her? Is she just gonna fall into our laps?” “No baby, he said that she is a very successful nightclub owner and she has the biggest one in Russia” “So did he tell you the name of it?” “No, he said that we would know it when we seen it. Said it shouldn’t be hard for us to find.” “I think he may have been right,” Raeven said as she stared at a very large billboard and the posters littering the ground, “Look at this” she picked up one of the flyers hopping across the ground. “The Coven proudly presents Nightwish in concert. Come and join the party at Russia’s biggest and wildest nightclub. HALF PRICED MIXED DRINKS.” David read aloud, “How about that, looks like we gonna get to have our vodka, vampires, and spilled blood all in the same night.” Raeven rolled her eyes and continued walking toward the rental car. “Oh Jesus David.” “What?” “Really, a Jetta?”
While they was driving to the hotel Raeven notice a man trying to take a purse away from a woman, “David stop the car!” David hit the brakes and Raeven jumped out and ran after the man. She cornered the man in a dark alley where he pulled a gun on her, “I really wouldn’t do that if I was you.” Raeven said with intent in her voice. The man shot her five times and Raeven went down gasping for air and reaching for her gun. The man came close to her and aimed the gun straight at her head, she heard the spring in the trigger start to compress and she reached for the gun. With a resounding bang the bullet went straight through her head. The man ran away and up a nearby fire escape, when he reached the landing of the second story he turned back to make sure the body was still there. He started up to the third story when Raeven leaped from the ground grabbing him and pinning him to the ground, she smiled as he begged and cried in Russian. She opened her mouth exposing her fangs, she reared her head back and sank her teeth into the stranger’s neck. He screamed in pain as she sucked the blood from his body, making sure she wasted as little as possible as if it were a rare and precious commodity. She felt the bullets being pushed out of her body and the holes seal themselves up, as the man’s blood made it’s way through her body. She continued to drink after the man had stopped moving. To make sure he didn’t turn she ripped his head off.
She saw David pull up to the end of the alley, now feeling better than before she walked to the car and got in. “Feel better?” “Yes” “Good now maybe you will quit being such a B*tch.” She looked at him and laughed, “I thought you were the b*tch.” He laughed and drove off to the hotel.

FIVE HOURS LATER

They could hear the pounding music as they pulled up to the club. It looked like a castle from the medieval period, ghastly illuminated with blue and purple lights making the two story building appear bigger than it really is. They approached the door and was stopped by the bouncers, they asked for ID. Raeven and David gladly showed their drivers license, and was motioned inside. Descending the steps leading down to the main floor where people were drinking, dancing, taking, buying, and selling drugs. Raeven and David closely watched everyone, trusting no one. There was a bar on both sides of the main floor, one with only imported beverages the other had only those native to Russia. Massive columns stretched upward to the insanely tall ceiling, looking like the blades of an electrical plug was arching large bolts of electricity between them then jumping to the ceiling and back down to the stage and over the crowd to the main door.
“I will go talk to the bouncers and see if I can find out anything” David said Raeven nodded, “I will check with the bar tenders.” They separated and was quickly swallowed up in the crowd. David approached the bouncers at the main door, noticing a strange looking man pass him. He looked like asian nationality and seemed to be eyeing him. David proceeded to speak to the bouncers, “Excuse me, is Raiyne here?” “I don’t know any Raiyne.” “ I think you do, she is your boss.” the bouncers turned to David, “We don’t know this Raiyne, now f*ck off before we f*ck you up asshole.” David pulled out his FBI credentials and showed them, “I think you do, we can do this the easy way or the hard way.” the bigger bouncer stepped to David, “Listen you little f*ck, we done told you we don’t know any one by the name of Raiyne.” he grabbed David by the shoulder and proceeded to lead him out. David’s eyes glowed blue as he snapped the bouncer’s wrist, forearm, elbow, then shoulder before throwing him to the ground. The other bouncer took a swing at David and he broke his wrist and elbow, then his knee. “I’m sorry, guess you didn’t know Raiyne.” and David walked away back into the club and the crowd.
Raeven sat at the bar, ordered a martini, “Please use Absolute, it’s my favorite.” the bar tender made eye contact with her and was instantly infactuated with her and made her drink quickly, “Hun, do you know where I could find Raiyne, I am an old friend.” with a very smooth voice he spoke in Russian, “I am not allowed to give that information out.” She pulled out her FBI credentials, “I hope you understand Romeo that I am a very important friend.” he shook his head yes, “There is a set of stairs behind the stage,” pointing at the stage where Nightwish was performing, “take those up to the third floor, turn left and her office is the fourth door on the left, it over looks the entire club.” Raeven drank her martini, “Thanks, have yourself a good night.” She got up and walked back onto the dance floor, a man brushed against her. He looked asian decent and give her a very intimidating look and proceeded the bar. She dialed David on the cell phone, “Hey where the hell you at?” “By the…..” “You are where?” “Poles…..dancers…..colu….” “Just text me where you’re at.” a few seconds later she got a text from him, “God Babe, why didn’t you just say that you were at the stage.” she thought to herself.
Raeven fought her way through the crowd as Nightwish pounded out their song Wishmaster. She finally found David as the song was coming to an end. She told him about the office and where to find it. He acknowledged her and opened his coat showing her his gun, she nodded yes. They made their way to the back of the stage and found the stairs. She drew her gun and checked her clip, “You ready babe?” “Sure am, I love you” “ Love you too”
David and Raeven proceeded up the stairs as Nightwish began to play Planet Hell. They moved swiftly, being met by three security personnel which they dispatched quickly and continued down the hall. “Hey you two stop.” A voice said from behind them, David turned and shot once putting the officer down. Their pace now quickening as they reached the door, they knocked and only heard a hissing sound. Raeven kicked in the door and saw seven vampires feeding on some of the patrons. She shot three of them in the head, David went hand to hand with two of them and ripped the heads from the bodies. Raeven was double teamed, being punched, kicked, scratched and bitten. She threw one of them through the big glass window over looking the club, drawing her other gun as she dove after the vampire and shooting it in the heart before it hit the ground. She landed on her feet turned and took aim and shot the other one left in the room with David. He jumped down to where Raeven was. The strange man remained at the bar and waived his hand. David and Raeven soon found themselves surrounded by hundreds of vampires with amber glowing eyes. “Raeven, did you think that you could kill me ever so easily?” turning around and saw him Raeven said with disgust in her voice as well as intent, “Akuma.” She prepared for a fight, “Do you really think that you and your……Husband can stop all of us.” then there was another voice, “Perhaps you want another chance to kill your brother.” She turned toward the voice and saw the charred body of Damiaen on stage with Nightwish. He grabbed one of the crew members and bit him, ripped his head off. She watched as Damiaen slowly began to turn back into his old self. He jumped off the stage and walked toward her, grabbing another innocent out of the crowd and bit her, turning her and completely healing himself.
“You really want to do this here Akuma, Damiaen? Do you?” “Why not Raeven?” David said deliberately, “Because you will expose all of us to the whole world, and you think you could make it out alive. You would die by our hand or the sun.” “Pathetic, you could never kill me David. Now she can, she is a chosen one. She is like a God among us.” “There will be no fight here tonight.” came yet another voice, this one from high above. Everyone looked up and saw a figure sitting in one of the highest windows. Akuma shouted, “Who the hell do you think you are? You think you can control me?” “Akuma, you have not changed since you arrived on this earth. You have always and will always be an animal, preying on the innocent people of this world. Only driven by your hatred, sexual disease, and thirst for blood.” “I know you, you tried to have me locked away because of your diseased beliefs.” “I know what you are planning to do next Akuma, please don’t. I do not wish to shed any blood here tonight.”
Raeven leaned over to David, “Is that the Historian?” “I think so” “Who’s side is he on?” “ I don’t know.” Akuma motioned to Damiaen. He motioned and at least thirty vampires joined him as the crawled the walls upward, ascending quickly toward the mysterious figure. The guy jumped, and spread his wings on the way down cutting the bodies at the torso and decapitating, as other parts are dismembered as he descends to the floor. He grabbed Damian and carried him to the floor, holding him high above everyone with one hand. “Release my Son you b*stard!” “I will release him the way you released their mother, Melissa.” “YOU SON OF A B*TCH!” the Historian tossed Damiaen into the air and impaled him with both of his wings, and ripped him in half. Akuma charged him as the other vampires charged Raeven and David. The Historian grabbed Raeven and David and flew out of the building.
Five minutes later they was perched on top of a church, “What the f*ck, you said that Raiyne was here.” “ I said you could start looking for her here, I didn’t say she would be here.” “I really don’t give damn, you could have gotten us killed.” “Only if I didn’t take you away would I have attempted to get you killed.” “I am really sick and tired of this bullsh*t.” David stepped in, “Raeven, baby while we was in that office I noticed a calender that had the 5th marked in red, it said grand opening Los Angeles. I think we should head back home. If we leave tonight we could get back in time to do research and set up a surveillance team on the club. Raiyne will be there for the opening of a new club.” Raeven paced, “I don’t know” “Rae, honey this is the first piece of hard evidence that we got. Please, I have a good feeling that is where we need to be.” The Historian had vanished and they never knew it. “Ok, lets get on a plane back home.” David hugged and kissed her, they jumped to the street below and went to the airport.

Chapter 4
CITY OF LOST fallen ANGELS

“I am glad that the FBI has the connections to get these nice ass rooms.” David said as he walked through the rented space. “Nice, this is like being treated as royalty. Never thought I would be staying in a penthouse suite.” She sat on the uber plush sofa and kicked off her shoes. David sat beside her, “Damn this is comfortable.” She laid over on his shoulder and relaxed somewhat. She looked up at him and couldn’t resist kissing him, intoxicated further by the kiss she sat up on his lap continuing to kiss him. He kissed her on the neck slowly as chills ran down her spine. She pulled his shirt off and began to kiss his chest, as the excitement between them grew as a sexual fire burned deep within both. Before they knew it they was making love on the sofa and in the floor.
“That was…..my God…baby I don’t know what to say….” Raeven struggled for words as she kissed him again. David was just as speechless as her, but their heavy breathing said all that needed to be said. Raeven went to grab a drink and noticed they had been going at it for over an hour and a half. She came back to David carrying a bottle of wine and two glasses. “You think we should get busy.” “David, didn’t we just do that?” “Rae, I mean about the reason we are here.” “Yea, of course. After we drink this very expensive bottle of wine that is absolutely free to us.” They laughed and slowly drank the whole bottle and accidentally fell asleep.

Somewhere in the bowels of LA

“Aithienah, one of your descendants is here, in the city as we speak. She is the halfblood that was promised to end Akuma and his reign of terror on this world.” The Historian spoke with the up most reverence. “Historian, you have documented all the happenings in the world about everyone and everything. Do you believe she can defeat him?” “Yes I do Aithienah.” “Go Historian, convene with the other elders. See what they think we should do then report back to me.” The Historian bowed showing his respect as he departed.

FBI offices Los Angeles

The Field Director of the LA offices seemed nicer than Koren could have ever dreamed of being, he made all resources available to Raeven and David. They searched data bases, made phone calls to and from Washington, DC hoping for a slight break but nothing even came close to shedding light on this mysterious Raiyne person. After six hours of hard investigating David finally got a call from US Customs, “Raeven, I just got off the phone with Customs. They had someone enter the country just one hour ago with the name Sarah Elizabeth “Raiyne” Johnson.” “David, how can that be the one we are looking for? Because the one we are looking for is Russian, she sound awfully American.” David sat down at the desk across from her, “Rae, she calls Russia home. She could be any nationality and be living in Russia, by the way they sent this picture of her.” Raeven picked up the photo and couldn’t believe what she saw, it looked just like her. The same kind of eyes, lips, face structure even their noses looked similar. She had short hair in the back, longer hair in the front all dyed black with the exception of the multi colored streaks in the front. She had a lip stud, a nose hoop, and a piercing on each eyebrow. “It will take her a good two days to get here, we better find the location of that club.” David agreed and they walked out of the offices together, but not before they thanked the director once more.

Secret underground chambers under the streets of LA

The Historian hurried along the tight winding underground of Los Angeles, in an almost frantic attempt to reach the other Elders. As he ran through the tunnels he remembered building the extravagant underground lair for them. He remembered the battled that ensued when Akuma turned against the other elders, the war nearly destroyed the human race. Akuma turned everyone that he could get his hands on. For years he had been searching for the Elders so that he could exact his revenge for them banishing him from all the covens.
The Historian came to the door which had not been opened in over two thousand five hundred years, he placed his key into the slot and turned. To his actual amazement the locking mechanism still worked. As he entered the chamber, dimly lit by torches and candles he heard the voices, “Who are you that dares disturb our slumber?” “Kraiken, it is I Historian.” “What is it you want with us Historian?” “The war has started, Akuma is building his army and is on his way here now.” “Why do you bother to bring us this news?” “Akuma will wipe out the human race, and kill all of you. He comes with a heart set on vengeance.” “The humans only serve as a form of entertainment for us, as well as our food.” “I have met both Halfbloods. One is already here in Los Angeles and the other is on her way.” “How do we know you speak the truth to us?” “I bring you this offering, my blood. Come and drink all of you so that you may see for yourself that I bring to you the truth.”
The shadows quickly came alive as three things jumped the Historian and fed.

On the streets above

David and Raeven tirelessly pounded the blacktop talking to every person that they met asking about a new nightclub opening called The Coven but no one seemed to know anything. Suddenly a scream pierced the night and fell heavily upon their ears, “HELP, DAMN IT, STOP!” they looked at each other and ran in the direction of the screams, quickly climbing a building and taking to the rooftops they came to an abandoned warehouse. Sneaking around to see what was happening they entered through an open roof hatch. The screams got louder as they moved down through the building ever so quietly. “Look David, it looks like they are trying to r*pe that young girl.” “Yea, she only looks like she is sixteen or so.” The girl looked more like a vampire than the two of them did. Raeven got a glimpse of one of the attackers, amber eyes.
David made a very risky jump from the fourth floor, but landed without making much of a sound, “Can I get in on this fellas?” He said as he walked up to the group and removing his trench coat, I do like them young.” “Sure stranger hold her head.” David grabbed her head and whispered in her ear, “I am here to save you, my partner is on the fourth floor. Now close your eyes.” David’s voice calmed the girl and she stopped fighting. David pulled her away and ran to the shadows with her. One of the men shouted, “VAMPIRE!” as Raeven dove from the fourth floor, landing amongst the group. “VAMPIRE!” they shouted as they pointed. “No, halfblood” with a very precision and lightening fast flick of the wrist she decapitated all five of them.
David walked out from the shadows holding the girl’s hand, now fully clothed. She ran to Raeven, “Thank you so much, I thought they was going to kill me.” Raeven hugged the girl back, “You need to be more carful, how old are you?” “I am twenty three, I look really young for my age.” Raeven showed her FBI badge, “Now how old are you?” “I’m seventeen.” “We need to get you back to your parents.” “ You can’t.” “Why not?” She pointed to two of the bodies, “That was them, I have no other family to go to.” “Have they been doing this to you long?” “No, these strange men,” she pointed to the one that had the amber eyes, “Broke into our house the other night and bit them during a struggle and then they was doing that.” “What is your name girl?” “Carla, but my friends call me Candi.” “Carla, we are going to take you back to the FBI headquarters here so that they can help you, ok.” she nodded her head, “First I have to go tell my boyfriend that I won’t be home anymore and that I am going away for a while.” “Ok where is he at?” “He is starting this new job at a new nightclub as a bouncer.” David said sarcastically, “The nightclub isn’t called The Coven is it?” “YES! It opens in like a week and I so wanna go to it.” “Carla, can you show us where it is?”
“Sure can.”

In the Elders lair

“Historian, is these things you have showed us true?” “Yes, Kraiken. They are true.” “If in fact this is all true then there is two Halfbloods. How did this happen?” “You saw it how it happened, it is Akuma. He is a loose cannon in this world.” “What do you propose we do Historian?” “Kraiken, I have already spoken with Aitheina, she suggested I speak with you, Sephar, Zaeo.” “Very well then, take us to Aitheina.” Sephar asked, “Does either one of the Halfbloods know of the others existence?” “Raeven only knows that she has a sister named Raiyne.” They hurried through the underground back to Aitheina. “Historian tell me, does this mean that the war has begun?” Zaeo asked with a very disturbing tone of enthusiasm in his voice. The Historian did not answer but again, “HISTORIAN! YOU WILL SPEAK TO ME!” The Historian turned, “I do not and will not speak to you unless I deem it necessary.” “We shall see about that. I want to slit your F*CKING THROAT!” Kraiken stepped in, “Please Zaeo, calm down.” “I WILL NOT CALM DOWN! HOW DO WE KNOW HE ISN’T LEADING US TO SLAUGHTER BY THE HAND OF THE HALFBLOOD! OR EVEN HIS OWN HAND!” Sephar shouted, “ZAEO, IF HE WAS TO KILL US HE COULD HAVE DONE IT CENTURIES AGO OR EVEN BEFORE WE LEFT OUR HOME!”
Zaeo pulled his sword and angled the point at the throat of the Historian, “I shall kill you here and now. You are just another f*ck up, like us. What makes you better than us?” The Historian kept a constant gaze with Zaeo, “I am not permitted to crush you like the impudent insect that you are, but know this. If you strike me I will not hesitate in my action to execute you.” He stepped closer, moving his throat closer to the blade, “So what are you going to do Zaeo? Are you going to act or just blow hot air, make your decision quickly because you are wasting my time.” Zaeo lowered his sword and sheathed it, taking great care to keep his face hidden by the hood of his robe and hair. “Forgive me, for I am all to anxious.” the Historian stared him through, “Know if you foul up like that one more time I will consider you a threat.”
Zaeo only thought how good it was going to feel when he took his secret public, in front of the Historian’s disbelieving eyes as his sister and brother fall by his hand. For his secret was far darker than that of his intent of killing his brother and sister, not even the Historian knew that Melissa was his child and Aitheina her mother. Zaeo softly whispered, “You will pay for your treachery dear sister.”

Back on the streets above

“The club is right around the next corner.” Carla said as they approached the corner. She pointed, “There it is. The Coven. I think I will go opening night.” Raeven kneeled, “Carla, honey I don’t think that is a good idea.” “ Why not?” Carla seemed to be getting antsy and her eyes began to twitch. David noticed just as Raeven did, “What’s wrong Carla?” she just kind of went into a daze. A tall man was walking toward them, he was wearing dark sunglasses as well as a very heavy, free flowing cloak. The hood was massive and covered his entire face. “ I see you found my daughter, I thank you.” Raeven and David was very suspicious of this very enigmatic man. Raeven grabbed Carla’s shoulder, “Excuse me sir, I can’t just let you take her without verifying who you are.” “Of what interest am I to you?” David spoke, “Well that depends on who you are. We need to see your Identification.” “Why would I show you my ID?” They pulled out their FBI badges, “This is why you will show us your ID or you are not taking this young girl with you.” The man made a noise. “Sir did you just growl at us?” He turned showing his fiery red eyes and grabbed Carla as he ran into the closest building. A thirty story office building, “GET OUT OF OUR WAY!” Raeven yelled as they pursued him, she drew her gun as they ran after the man.
Once in the building Raeven and David split up heading to the top of the building. Raeven did not expect to be met by an army of vampires, all of them thirsty for blood. The strange man was turning the floors as he ascended the structure. Against her will she opened fire, and slaughtered everyone that dared to touch her. “I wonder if David has encountered the same thing?” she wondered as the vampires dropped like bad habits. She was soaked from head to toe in the thick blood that she wore so beautifully, her bright blue eyes piercing through the crimson as she ascended quickly using her speed to her advantage. She radioed David, “David you there?” the radio crackled some, “Yeah babe, You won’t believe what the Hell I ran into…” “Let me guess, an army of vampires full of rage and thirsting for blood. They had red eyes.” “Yeah, how did you know? OH wait did you see them too.” “Let’s just say that the janitor is going to be pissed when he sees the mess I mad on the eighth floor. I am almost to the thirteenth floor,.” “Me too, where you at exactly?” David felt something on his shoulder, he turned with a gun to the side of their head and a knife to the throat, “Rae!? Sweetie, I am sorry I thought that you may have….” “It’s ok, not like it would have killed me anyhow.” “That isn’t the point….I almost killed my…” “Keep trying to apologize baby, I find it kinda cute.”
They entered a door marked floor thirteen, they looked down the hallways and all was quiet. “There he is.” They ran after him as he stopped in front of a window, “You will see b*stard child, the Halfblood. This war will take everything from you.” He jumped out the window spreading his wings, and he landed in the darkness of a construction site two blocks away.
