laughter heals and hurts
so do reactions

today my reaction
hurt feelings
today my laughter
upset a friend

and for that
i'm sorry

despite disagreeing
i can be
more gracious
less insensitive

i can say sorry
even if it is
not heard
or believed

when my thoughtlessness
causes affliction
i can learn
a life lesson

which may be
painful for me to learn

but in my life
i have found
there is always room to be
better

and a more thoughtful
less defensive
more deliberate
less careless
me

is bound to be
a better me
