A somewhat humorous metaphorical breakup to makeup relationship story/poem. |
We Survived an UNnatural Disaster and All I Got was This Poem by Brandon McClaskey It seems like every day I know you, I find something new to love. I know it looked overcast for a minute, but all that matters is that we rose above Trials and tribulations of a relationship that was meant to be. Which was nearly destroyed by a hurricane of jealousy. It survived more than a few floods of arguments And even stood against a 7.5 scale, "Get out of my car, you Bitch!" Then, the waters receded and we decided that we must Build it back up to what it can be with these planks of trust. Then our bulkheads will be stronger to withstand the gale force wind, Composed of whispers. We will hear them blowing. We will not let them in. Not after we've covered every single tool we used in tears And finally drained our sinking hull of the last drops of fears. Not after months of inhaling deep and smelling the scent you sprayed All over the garments inside the box that you made. Necessary treatments to remind myself that we will be saved From the depths of rough seas that our boat has just braved. No. Not now. Not ever again. From now on, it is only us. Ahoy! It's the ones who were saying so surely, "This is all only lust." Throw them a vest! They've fallen from the yacht that was, "best on the lot" And here we are, standing on dry ground. Hmm. Who would have thought? |
