Following Mother's Footsteps
Mother's Footsteps

Sister, come along with me.

Let's play house and try to see,

just how it feels to be a mother,

to take care of sister and little brother.

Let's see, first we must comb our hair

and also see that the children share

their toys and do not quarrel so,

Because that's bad, we surely know.

We must make meals and be good cooks.

We must make beds and read good books.

We must scrub floors and wash the clothes,

and also see that the garden grows.

We must sweep the floor and polish with care

the pretty banister along the stair.

Clean the windows and wash the dishes,

and fulfill all of our wishes.

Oh dear, I'm tired as can be

just thinking of what Mother does for me.
