Another poem about that guy.... I swear, he takes up my whole portfolio.
I don"t want to be a memory,
a long lost shattered dream
I don't want to be a shadow
of what tore at the seam
I don't want to be a second try,
hoping "maybe, this time..."
We can't be a discarded poem
the artist could never make rhyme
We, two hearts, could live separately
our lives far too easy
But I want to be friends,
We'd be undoubtedly happy
We could start over,
erase and forget our past
Even build something
that might possibly last
You and I weren't meant to be lovers,
we would only end up broken
Maybe this time we won't be memory
but a friendship unshaken
