A poem about a young person with an old heart.
I wonder what it feels like to be loved?
To hold the hand of a heart connected,
I imagine the mystical kiss of passion, not lust,
To gaze into twin eyes, that are gazing back into mine,
I wonder what it feels like to take a bite out of the sensuous fruit of love,
My weeping heart will never know,
because it's rosy youth has turned a mottled shade of gray,
and though,
my years have been few,
they have obtained,
pain devoid of pleasure,
and walls too thick to crack,
gates of forbidden entry,
along with chambers of solitude,
So tonight as my weary spirit rests,
I'll go to sleep with no arms around me besides my own,
just a body shivering in the damp night air,
Good night my limber body,
And beats of an ancient heart.
