Something I wrote after talking one last time to an Ex.
Looking into those deep blue eyes I see pain.

I see confusion and sorrow.

I see someone who is lost and can't find their way.

I see a person who puts on a 'front' that says all is well but is
really just struggling to face tomorrow, a person that is finding it
hard to make it through each day.

Looking back at me is a smile filled with indecision,

a face trying to convince the world that everything they are doing is what they want.

Quickly they look away knowing that I can see right through the veil.

They blink and try and hold back the tears.

Tears of loss and tears of love

Tears of wishing things could be different

A lone tear begins to fall. I reach up and wipe it away.

It is warm and the feelings it carries as it touches my thumb makes me shiver.

The message this tear conveys makes me smile but at the same time makes me sad.

It's a message of confusion, a message that says 'I don't know what to do…please help me… I think I am in too deep'…

'I can't… this is something you have to work on yourself' is my mental reply.

Looking into those deep blue eyes I see pain.

In front of those eyes is a wall.

A wall constructed to protect the heart.

A heart that is torn in two.

In those deep blue eyes I see so much.

I see love, caring and tenderness.

I see eyes screaming the desires of the soul.

The deeper I look the more I see,

Inside those deep blue eyes…

That reflection is me.
