Here is a place where you'll find some interesting short story. Enjoy!
After a new face of distaste and horror, I kicked again to the thing that was directing its tentacles to my house. Even so, in spite of my effort and that recoiled for a few seconds, it attacked again, and in seconds was at the porch of my beloved home.

It was like a huge gray gelatin with tentacles and weird noises, almost like a jellyfish that forgot which was its mean in the confines of the ocean and decided to run the world looking for a new purpose.

We all ran through the living room like a demented herd, and shielded ourselves behind the couch. I felt how my heartbeats and my friends breathing were making a whole orchestra. After a few seconds of awaiting the worst, we realized that there was no other sound in the room, beside ours.

Gathering a lot of courage, and with a few cheer whispers of my friends, I showed my head above the armchair. The gelatin had vanished, or at least, that is what I thought at first.

I asked my friends for the coffee table lamp and walked noiselessly to the porch. Suddenly I felt my stomach turning inside me with incipient nausea. A cold sweat crossed my back while I looked at the revolting tentacle that still with life, twisted frantically on the floor.

I closed my eyes for a moment but when looking again the tentacle was still there, dancing and doing horrifying things. I took a deep deep breath, ignored it and verified that the tentacle wasn’t the only thing that laid on the floor, but a whole path of gelatinous mass that kept going until the end of the corridor.

It took me only one breath to understand where the path was leading to, and gathering courage from where I didn’t have, I walked to the kitchen while avoiding the best I could the pools and pieces of the strange being. I got to the kitchen with a mixture of disgust and fear, and carefully half-opened the door.

Suddenly my terror became surprise and then incredulity: the creature was trying to get in my refrigerator.

After taking my time to recover from the impression that this caused me, I kicked open the door and charged the horrible creature that was attacking my fridge with all my strength.

While I ran a weird thought crossed my head, time seemed to stop and I saw myself tripping over a huge pool of slime. On the floor the only thought that prevailed on me was that the gelatin was melting!

I sharpened my ear and observed the creature closely, discovering that in fact it seemed to be crying while trying to put its voluminous body inside the fridge. Something like pity seized me and I thought that perhaps I could give it a hand.

Gathering strength and equilibrium I closed on the creature and kindly offered it our bigger fridge in the garage, but contrary on my thoughts the gelatin didn’t look me with a good eye, and howling of fury attacked me.

The battle was terrible and in more than one occasion I flew through the air thanks to the blow of its tentacles. I managed to half nail it with a frying pan and a spoon without stopping it. While fighting, I squeezed my brain trying to find a way to beat something that didn’t even had a head, until the same idea I had before crashed me: the gelatin was melting!

I took impulse, slid under its tentacles to the fridge door and closed it with a single blow. When the gelatin stopped feeling the cold roared even more, turning increasingly more violent. Meanwhile, I tried to think in some other thing that could help me finish the creature, because thanks to the cold it had recovered considerably and it would take a long long time for it to melt it.

A new blow hit me in the back and sent me straight in to the dishwasher. Light came to me and I remembered my mother many years back teaching me how to wash gelatin deposits: first you must always soak it for a couple of minutes because the water dissolves the gelatin. Without a second thought I grabbed the hose from the dishwasher, pointed and opened the spurt to its maximum capacity.

The rest was only a matter of minutes; the creature screamed and tried to escape from my reach, but with the amount of water falling on it, and the one that was already on the floor, it was impossible to escape.

In the end we were just the hose, me, and 6 revolving tentacles on the floor.

The police arrived a couple of minutes later; my friends had bravely called them from the neighbor house, once they escaped my living room.

I must say that since that day I deeply hate the gelatin, and sadly, the octopus stopped being my favorite sea food.
