Listening

I can hear the angels

... on the roof

the soft flutter of their wings

as they whisper and sing

they have a secret

but it's not theirs to tell

I find myself pausing

Listening for just a spell

if only I could discover

what it is they say

I've almost caught them

once, maybe twice

but they always dissapear,

In the blink of an eye.

One day, I'll discover

what it is they say

But until then I'll wait

until my dying day
