The workaholic is a perfectionist. To others he is a martyr. What do you think?

The 3364th email disappears yet there are 18 more to go,
next the phone interrupts a deep sleep and gives rest a knock out blow,
evenings consumed with writing plans and dealing with organizational fights,
weekends consumed by work with little hope of down time in sight.

No one is there to see the hours of work behind the scenes,
nor does anyone care about his welfare and what his workload means,
while others play and enjoy life, he struggles through the day,
and with no one by his side he can’t help but feel dismayed.

The only return he seeks for his efforts is some understanding,
some consideration and respect he feels is really not so demanding,
for most of the time he suffers in silence and pushes through the day,
and all of this he does for love and not for any pay.

In his present circumstances there is and will be no respite,
and further more no one seems the least bit interested in his miserable plight,
his imagination and day dreaming get him through this maze,
if only someone cared about him it may be better days.
