Character Profiles Windchaser

Windchaser-  Another pure Norean gray wolf.  His father Wildwind had wished him to take up the family tradition and become guardian of a royal of Nore.  However, Windchaser has no intentions what-so-ever of doing so.  Some believe that it is because that his father guards the one who was meant for him to guard, others believe that it is because of his attitude.  None the less, Wildwind had tried pretty much everything he can think of to get his son set straight, and all attempts failed.
Windchaser is introduced as a teenager so to speak.  He acts like one at least.  Windchaser wants to live as a dog does; he wants to be a pet to someone who will take care of him.  Unfortunately he seems to have the worst of luck at it.  Either they throw him out, attack him or the pass away themselves.  Every time Wildwind returns to help him, and every time Windchaser pushes him away.
Windchaser will always be blunt and speak his mind, and he doesn’t care about how harsh it may sound.  Rarely will he ever say anything nice or not start an argument.  Because of his attitude, he has not finished his training as a warrior, so he is not as powerful as he could be.  Wildwind sees that he has the ability to even pass him one day, but is constantly reminded of how he is.
Though he is young still, he has the head of a bore, he’ll take on the whole wolf army if it means he gets to live the way he wants.  Though none other than his father dares challenge him, as it is the way of the wolf to let one live his own life.  Wildwind too knows and acknowledges this, that’s why he lets him wander and live the way he does; though that doesn’t mean that he can’t try to convince him otherwise.  If Windchaser gets too far out of control, weather anyone’s there or not, Sheru will bind him down.  Naturally, his father decides his punishments if he gets too far out of line, but most of the time nothing is done except a lecture.
***SPOILER ALERT***  At the end of it all, Windchaser does not find the home he searches for, but instead Moonstar herself suggested a solution that not only keeps the families tradition, but one that also satisfies Windchasers calling.  In the final chapter Sheru announces that Windchaser has become Chrystals guardian.  She doesn’t fight much and she would rather pet and play than train.

Windchaser was named first because wind was in his fathers’ name, but in story Wildwind thought that he would one day follow in his footsteps, so chaser seemed to fit.  It also goes off of how I originally got Wildwinds name too.  Ironically enough the name does fit really well as he fallows where he wants to go, basically where his wind takes him and not his fathers, but he also ends up as a guardian just like his dad and ancestors.
