Stress-filled State of Mind

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”
I think Dickens was on to something here.
    Was it worth it?
Sometimes I ponder this question in fear.
What ifs? What if nots?
Will always fill my mind.
But, I know that I would find
The memories I would have lost,
The doubts it would have cost,
Remind me that yes, in the end
      It was worth it!
