This summarizes my thoughts about love on most occasions. Please leave critical comments!
“I love you so much,” he whispers to me.
“And I’ll love you forever, you’ll never be free.”
With words sweet as honey, hearts pure as gold,
Love is a prison that quickly gets old.

I feel sick of the sugar, trapped by your arms,
Confining embraces and overdone charms.
Yet though I now struggle against what I held,
I return time again just to feel our hearts meld.

Yes, it’s true that I love you, I’ve said so before;
And still I come back just to kiss you once more.
But I can’t stand the pretense, the unspoken vow
You’ll love me forever, but what about now?

You tell me to warn you if I’m ever too hurt
If something you say has some spiteful word.
But to be perfectly frank, your words never sting;
Any truth they once held no longer does ring.

How do I show you I want more than sweetness,
Tell you I don’t want the saccharine neatness?
I want something tangible, something that’s real
You need not to ask again, “How do you feel?”

Vases and vases of fast-dying flowers,
Sayings of love cascading in showers.
Day after day, night after night
‘Till nothing but love now comprises my sight.

Once I did cherish each compliment brought;
But now they are empty, they seem to mean naught.
You give them so freely I know you don’t care
For if you really did mean them, they’d be far more spare.

Before we became more than sweet, simple friends
We reveled in a joy that never could end.
But the love that should magnify all that I felt,
The beautiful love that should make my heart melt...

It's a tower of gems with a marvelous view:
All that it’s done is to wall me from you
But padlocks and bars and bindings of chain
Even with these, still my love will remain.

Despite how I argue, struggle and fight
I know in the end that your arms hold me tight.
I don't have the strength to resist you much longer;
And I never believe that I'll get any stronger.
I'm weary and worn by you down to the bone...
And someday soon now, I'll be left all alone.
