An all dialog scene with the main character from TOD and his new "friend."
A Threat Of Decency: Wires

“I’m going to kill you.”
“That’s funny considering your position. How were the drugs?”
“Fine, as far as they go. They did their job.”
“And you’re fully conscious now?”
“Hm. A little groggy as far as I can tell. Other than that, yes. If I could stand up and stretch, I could give you a better picture.”
“We both know that I can’t let you do that.”
“And just why is that?”
“Because you’re dangerous.”
“That’s right. Now admit the rest of it.”
“The rest of it? I’m afraid I don’t understand.”
“You do understand, and you are afraid. That’s the rest of it.”
“Can we get back on topic? I have a lot to discuss with you.”
“Back on topic? The piano wires are a nice touch. I’ve never even heard of something like this before.”
“That’s good. Well then, I guess we can get down to business, can’t we?”
“Nope.”
“Whatever do you mean?”
“You know damn well what I mean. I have no interest in whatever you have to say. I have no attachments in this world. Everything I own can be replaced. I can always make more money. Short of killing me, there’s nothing you can do to hurt me.”
“My goodness, you are stubborn. I have such great plans for the two of us.”
“I hate to spoil the mood, but I don’t work for anybody.”
“That’s why we’re at such an impasse here! You see me as a master, when I would have us work side-by-side, as partners!”
“You know what the best way to work with someone like me is?”
“Do tell.”
“Put a bullet in my head.”
“Oh, heavens no! That’s so… counterproductive. I can see that you’re a tough man, and from what I’ve heard, just about as nasty a piece of work there is. And because I need someone like you, I can’t very well just kill you out of hand. So, unfortunately, I’m going to happen to be quite cruel in the next few minutes.”
“I’m sure you’ll try.”
“Now, since you can’t see behind you, let me explain what I’m going to do.”
“If I feel both of your hands on my shoulders while you shout ‘booyah’ I’m going to be very disappointed in you. “
“No. I’m going to tighten the knots in the wire by twisting the rod the wires run through, like… this.”
“Hmmm. That’s not too bad, doc.”
“Your pain tolerance is commendable, but-ugh, it won’t help. In the end, you’ll either give in or die. Now… hn! How do you like that?”
“It’s kind of exhilierating. I think you cut my nipple off.”
“Regrettable. Now, we’re going a bit tighter. My, that’s a lot of blood.”
“Let me ask you something.”
“Yes, yes, go ahead.”
“Were you ever a Boy Scout?”
“Heavens no. Why do ask?”
“Because you suck at tying knots.”
“What are you doing?!”
“Ah, that’s better.”
“Stop it!”
“I told you I was going to kill you.”
