Sometimes you just know - and respond (Form: Jeffrey’s Sonnet) |
The Look Vaporous breath, pale glowing skin, eyes that hide promises within, all captured in a moment's glance. Her feral beauty calls to me in tones of icy ecstasy. Her image holds me in a trance There's no romance. This silent call, this primal touching, does enthrall in places where the soul lies bare, beyond the control of one's self. All thought is placed upon a shelf; ignored are warnings to beware. I'm unaware. My reaction to attraction is mute: I stare. Notes An entry for day two of "Invalid Item" Prompt: Image Form: Jeffrey's Sonnet was created by Scott J. Alcorn. It is isosyllabic (only 8 syllable per line), 2 sestets with a cross rhymed couplet (the cross rhyme is in the 2nd to 4th syllable in each of the two lines of the couplet). Also there is a cross rhyme in the first line of the 2nd sestet (between the 2nd to 4th syllable), tying the 1st sestet to the 2nd. So the rhyme scheme would be: aabccb, (b)ddeffe, (e)g (g)e. The letters in () are the cross rhymes. Thank you for reading my words. Please, take a moment and leave a comment – your reaction, criticisms, thoughts, yes – even praise – all are equally welcome.
