I'm no poet, but tell me what you think. Here's something I did for class.
Oh Lord,
I am a mother of three,
It’s just these children and me.
I am trying to find your grace,
Like I try to keep food on our table,
And a roof over our heads.
Oh Lord I need you,
Have you forgotten me?

Hello Lord,
I am a war child,
Born into the sound of bombs,
And unforgivable disaster.
I watch my school burn to the ground,
My friends without a home,
I pray to you Lord, make this end quickly.
Have you forgotten me?
Please, do you hear me?

My God,
I am only an old soul.
I am not supposed to bury my son,
Who has fought so hard for me,
And never given up on your word.
God, I am trying to see,
Have you forgotten me?
Please, do you hear me?
How much longer will my faith hold?

Please God,
I do not want to beg again,
For a place to sleep,
For leftover food,
Or extra change.
God I have never given up on you,
Please, what more can I do?

We are your children,
Your shining light.
We’re looking for you,
These times are not right.
We follow your word,
Your faith and you power.

Still we wonder
From time to time.
Have you forgotten us?
Please don’t leave this place,
We are searching for you.
Our faith is forever strong,
This is all that we can do.
