A cool breath of air before plunging into the depths,
I can always see the surface,
Its bright light welcoming, calling through the layers of blue and white roughness.
To stay and drown would be a sin,
And that fresh surface air would be my last thought.
Yet the wonders of the deep are tempting, lovely and something brand new.
To see the freedom of the ever stretching plains of beauty.
To play in the reefs and frolic in the bays.
So i dive deeper down, my breath runs out.
I want to go deeper, yet the pull of my heart in the enveloping pressure warns me.
To the surface, I swim, gasping for air,
Only to arrive intrigued by what I have left behind.
