Fighting Fate ( only first chapter)

Chapter one : The beginning in the End

My mother wasn't a foolish woman. she was a missionary who wanted to see the world and spread the word of the Bible. that was until, she came upon the village of Fa-ling. the village was found on the side of one of the most sacred of mountains. when she stepped onto the soil of the village she knew it was enchanted but she kept walking. the villagers too where mesmerized by her presence. they had never seen anything like her.
She was a tall woman with long Scarlett hair and brilliant grey eyes. all the men of the village immediately fell in love with her. she lived in the village for a very long time, such a long time that they considered her a part of the "family". it was expected of her that she would conceive a child.
one night as she was tending to the fire she was visited by a young man named shean. he was about her age and was one of the handsomest men in the village. he asked her if she would like to share a meal. she accepted and followed him back to his hut. that was the night i was conceived.
My mothers pregnancy went like any normal pregnancy would, until the day i was born. after her nine months had past she was ready to give birth. that day there was a series of earthquakes. the village shaman saw this as a sign of destruction and thought i was a demon. he told my mother that i must be killed. she refused.
as her labor progressed dark clouds rolled in over the sky. with a crack of thunder, i was brought into the world. when the midwife went to hand me to my mother the shaman ripped me from her hands. i was born sleeping, not crying at any normal babe would. he said that i was a devil child. my mother screamed when he drew his knife. it was then that i woke up and it was said that at the moment that i opened my eyes lightning rang down from the heavens and set the village ablaze.
the shaman then realized the huge mistake he had made.
he knew of only one place he could take me. he ran and they burned.
