Robbery at UMB Bank: $83 Bandit Strikes Again

On Tuesday December 1st, 2009 "Ocho Tres" robbed a UMB Bank branch in Denver Colorado.He is known by the authorities by the name The $83 Bandit, not because of the amount he's taken,but the bank notes with these common numbers on them.I'm sure he got away with a lot more than $83 on this trip to the bank.He is an odd man that for some reason keeps getting lucky and getting away with many robberies. This was interesting to me because if I hadn't of taken longer after school I would have been walking right by the bank when all this happened.

The guy has been said to have successfully robbed over nine banks in the Denver area since March 2009 and has gotten away each time.He goes in and demands the bank teller to give him the amount on the bank note and they all oddly have 3's in them. There has been no proof of any kind of weapon but he has threatened that he had one in previous robberies he acted in. Some investigators have said he is most likely homeless or visits the shelters a lot and is described to be a white man in his 30's or 40's,blond hair,and a slim build.On the day of the robbery he was said to be wearing a white t-shirt,cargo pants and like a Indiana Jones type of hat. The police have not found him yet and the search is still on for the $83 Bandit.

I wrote about this because when i was walking home,like i do every day, I always pass UMB Bank.It is normally all quiet in this part, but on that day I counted 11 police cars and helicopters. I kept walking and when I reached my house my mailman told me what was going on and to lock my doors. This is hard news because when someone robs from a bank they aren't only stealing from us they are stealing from the society.I hope the police find "Ocho Tres" soon and before he hits yet another bank.
