travel and volunteer in Yunnan
I was safely back from Yunnan’s service to some orphans from Xichuan. It was a memorable trip. We had the chance to serve 2 groups of orphans, 1 had been orphans for years and 1 just since the earthquake. They are very different. Those orphans for years are disciplined, matured and independent. Those from the earthquake are self-centred and emotional as their family condition may be very good before the disaster. They still suffered from nightmare and sleepless night. We organized games and personal counselling for them. We could see that they really benefit from that. Some of them even learnt from us how to help their classmates to cheer up.
They wrote letters to their family saying that they were well in Yunnan and asked them not to worry, when they are still at young age suffering from homesick. We , the counsellors, also cried when we knew them more through the counselling and their letters. One of us, a non-christian, took photos for them and brought their photos and letters to visit their family in Xichuan.

After the service, I stayed in Yunnan for one more week with one team member to have sight-seeing. I had no more appetite for a challenging trip, but not the case for others. The trip was far more risky than I expected. The road was built along very narrow and sliding hillside with a S-shape all the way. We had witnessed a car rush down to the slope, some great rocks just slid off along the road, a tourist was killed one day before, one of the tour members had fallen down from the horse . Never prayed so earnestly whole day long throughout the trip. Thank God for His wonderful grace and protection . We should not put our life at risk just for some excitement.
After the trip, I have known more friends, some of them are non-christians. I have some good talk and sharing with them. Some of them do feel relaxed after that. Some of them do open up my heart to see my weakness deeper. I start to msn with them. Thank God for His wonderful providence. They are nice to me during the trip . May God use me to testify Him further.
During the trip, I have grasped the chance to sing some Christian songs to them with my out of tune singing style.
The trip is also very fruitful that I have composed of 6 poems .
Thank once more for God’s grace to sustain my life, just because He loves me so much and keeps my life to learn how to love.
