The Albatross

The albatross flies high above
Observing an illicit love
Lingering in the atmosphere
Steals a glimpse of what is near

Advancing well beyond his flight
The albatross with all his might
Steals a swift and hasty glance
At the lovers forever entranced

Their bodies heavenly intertwine
In his flight the albatross takes his time
So that he might softly perceive
What he assumed was make-believe

At last their final words are told
They must part, must break their hold
The albatross with a celestial sigh
Must bring himself to say goodbye
