Stories elucidate deeper truths about the world we live in, in this case, about evil.
Deepest, darkest, blackest night;
come! ye hosts that hate the light!
Witches, werewolves, ghosts galore;
vampires thy blood implore.

Moon's afright, she hides her face:
All is held in dark embrace.
We, once bold, now shake with fear
as we tales of darkness hear.

Tales from near and tales from far,
glimmering like silvery stars.
Stories show us deeper truths,
let us start, we'll give our proofs.

Dragon, Glaurung was his name,
Oh! such death from him became.
Cursed once by the darkest foe,
Hurin's line must suff'ring know.

Elves of Nargothrond, his prey;
there the sleeping dragon lay.
Madness lurked within his eyes,
those who dared him, flaming, died.

Long at last came Morwen's son;
he would see this Worm undone!
Gurthang, wrest away his life,
may he see no more the light.

Thus the dragon's life was past;
Morgoth's servant, dead, at last.
In his eyes had evil glowed;
lies and hate were all he told.

Leaving now Beleriand,
land of elves and land of man,
come now we to different tale,
of a boy so young and frail.

Normal boy, eleven years,
lives with in-laws, full of fear:
what may he become some day?
Forehead scarred by lightning's ray.

Through the story, long and deep,
Harry learns his history.
He, a mage, his parents dead,
killed by he whose name is dread.

Beaten once, by love's defense,
dark lord from his body's sent.
Now he seeks a flesh renewed:
with this body shall he rule.

Fear will grasp the Ministry;
Voldemort? this cannot be!
Be it can, and so it is,
thus begin alliances.

Fear, possession, torture, death
He won't stop till nothing's left.
Horror, madness, deepest fright,
Where is goodness, where is light?

Ended are these tales not, still
they my purposes fulfill.
Dragon's fire, Wizard's Bane
tell us what's not always plain.

Evil lurks in our world, too.
These are but smallest preview;
This world has invet'rate foe,
Lord of darkness, lord of woe.

We, by story, get a glimpse
of the greater story still.
Life is hard. Does evil win?
Will we bow to the Serpent?

This now said, I say it clear,
fight we must for our lives, dear.
'Gainst the creatures of the night,
Let's be brave and let us fight!

Morgoth was at last, deposed;
Voldemort, his doom he knows.
Serpent's venom from us flushed,
Evil will one day be crushed.
