One of my first poems.
If a tree falls in the forest

And there’s no one there,

Does it make a sound?

My heart is that lonely tree,

And cries out a solemn plea;

It’s alone, scared, and very broken,

And there is no comforting token.

The echoes are heard for miles around,

But if there was water, I would have drowned.

No one sends me my own compassion,

The easy task of sharing compassion.

I have been good to all,

I have been mean to none.

When did that lonely tree fall?

Why is that one individual tree completely and utterly…

Alone?
