[Introduction]
Ghost Girl (Short Story)

From the distance, Eli could see an attractive girl standing on the edge of a skyscraper. Her sorrowful eyes growing as she stares down the 13 story building. Her sadness seemed cast a spell upon the blue sky as grey clouds begin to approach this hectic city. Suddenly, something starts beeping and Eli wakes up from this reoccurring dream. This dream has been reoccurring for many days from now, but Eli had no idea what it meant. Getting the dream out of his mind, Eli jumped out of his bed and pulled back his custard colour curtains for some morning light and view. I’ve gone mad, he thought, there’s definitely something wrong with me. Trying to absorb everything that has happened, Eli slowly walked back to the lift.

Reaching his destination, Eli pressed a button and the lift slid open. The lift was deserted besides from a newspaper lying abandoned on the floor. Eli picked up the newspaper and the front page read in black bold letters: “GIRL SUICIDES OFF A 13 STORY BUILING” and the text below read, “Yesterday, on the 2/5/2006 a girl identified as Helen Joda has jumped off a 13 story building her family and friends have been… (cont’ pg 2)” Eli fell to his knees and covered his face, crying. Only if Eli had followed his dream earlier he would’ve had a chance to prevent this from happening...
