A poem for the woman I love...
You...

As I sit here and reflect upon the last few months
I realize just how lucky I have been
To have found someone as special as you
Is not something that I had foreseen

A small decision that changed my life
I almost turned down that photo shoot
That would have been my biggest mistake
Because I would never have met you

It wasn't too long ago
When my world was upside down
I wanted to share my life with someone
But there was no one around

Sleepless nights, restless days
Alone and always seeing the joy in others
I often pondered the futility
But I wanted to be one of those lovers

All hope and faith I had was long gone
But somehow I just never let go
Somehow I had some hope
That I wouldn't spend my life alone

I was asked to capture their moments of joy
In the form of a photo shoot
Never could I ever have imagined
That my soul mate was sitting in that room

I tried to conceal my true emotions
But my eyes never lied
She saw right through me
She knew the hard exterior was just a disguise

In unsuspecting fashion
As we started to get to know each other
I grew closer and closer
To eventually being her lover

How quickly one's life can change
Always in an unsuspecting manner
These spontaneous moments are life changing
Even for a self-admitted planner

Thank you for finding me and making me happy
Thank you for being patient and not getting angry
Thank you for seeing the potential within me
Thank you for loving me unconditionally
I'm a better person now and I owe it to you
The joy you bring to me feels like something new
And now I can finally breathe a breath of fresh air
I can enjoy life and not have to be scared

Now I sit here and reflect upon these last few months
And realize just how lucky I have been
How much my life has changed
Is not something that I had foreseen
