Follow the amazing adventures of Ritsuka and Makoto. Please review!
The young boy stood on the edge of the roof of a small building overlooking a large lake. To those who did not know of him, he was probably a strange sight. He wore a pair of blue jeans and a black shirt with sleeves too long for his short arms. His shoes were also black, with small red circles on the outside of each heel. A white scarf, wrapped around his neck, floated gracefully in the wind behind him. His skin had a very slight blue tint. His shy smile and slightly feminine features enhanced his image of youthful innocence. The really strange things about him, however, were his feline ears and tail. Both of these were a dark shade of blue.

The boy took a deep breath, “It’s so… peaceful up here”. His relishing was quickly interrupted by a loud scream coming form within the house, “Ritsuka!” He bolted from the roof, jumping down and landing nimbly on his feet. From there, he charged into the house, looking around frantically. *click*. An older boy sat on a couch holding a stopwatch. His leg was draped over the arm of it, “Four seconds”. He sighed, “You’ll have to be faster than that Ritsuka”.

Ritsuka leaned down to catch his breath, “You’re such a jerk Makoto”.

Makoto had short black hair that fell in front of his face. He wore black, lightweight armor with red highlights. A long sword with a golden hilt was strapped to his back. A black gauntlet was on his right hand. His artful smirk showed intelligence beyond his years. He frowned, “What if that had been a real attack?” He then stood up, placing his hand on Ritsuka’s head, “I’ll tell you. You would have been late, and there would be nobody left for you to fight”.

Ritsuka glared up at him, “Well it wasn’t a real attack. So why does it matter?”

Makoto smirked, “Oh wasn’t it?” He jerked his thumb towards the wall where lay an unmoving body. It had bright red hair and was wearing a red uniform, “This idiot decided to attack us alone. You can see the results.”

Ritsuka blinked, “You did that in four seconds?”

Makoto looked at the body, “You act like that’s not normal.” The two looked at each other for a long moment, and then laughed. After catching his breath, Ritsuka walked over to the body and kneeled down in front of it. He closed his eyes, then held out his hand as it began to glow white.

He placed his hand over the head of the slain man. “This one was a new recruit of the Red Sun Army. He was trying to prove his worth by attacking us alone. He was too confident for his own good.”

Makoto sighed, “Your mind reading ability always freaks me out, no matter how many times I see it.”

Ritsuka’s hand stopped glowing as he opened his eyes, “These RSA guys are really annoying. But I don’t think this one deserves to die.” He shoved his hand through the man’s chest, leaving no wound. As he removed it, the man’s heart began beating again. The man coughed up a few drops of blood, then opened his eyes. Ritsuka smiled at him, “Are you awake? What’s your name?”

Makoto spoke up, “You should already-”

Ritsuka interrupted him, “Shush! I know what I’m doing.” He turned back to the man, “I know you can talk. What’s your name?”

The man looked afraid, “I-it’s B-b-blaze.”

Ritsuka moved closer to him, “Well Blaze, I’m Ritsuka. And that’s Makoto.” Blaze stood up. Ritsuka moved to support him, “You shouldn’t walk yet! You know that a few seconds ago you were dead, right?”

Blaze struggled, angrily, appearing to have lost his previous fear of them, “Where’s my sword? I need my sword! Give it to me now!”

Ritsuka let him go and moved behind Makoto, “What’d you do with his sword?”

Makoto shrugged, “I don’t know, I was too busy fighting for my life to pay attention to his stupid weapon!”

Blaze ran through the room, panicking, “Argh! If I go back without that sword, they’ll kill me!”

Ritsuka and Makoto stopped arguing, looked at Blaze, and then said in unison, “Who said you were going back?”

Blaze froze, the fear returning to his voice, “W-what do you mean? Y-you’re letting me go aren’t you?”

Ritsuka shook his head, “I’m sorry, but we can’t let you go back. I’m sure you know, considering that you attacked us, that the RSA is trying to kill us.”

Blaze nodded, “You two are evil! That’s what they told me. You’ve killed thousands of innocent people!”

Ritsuka looked down, “We didn’t kill them. Well, we didn’t kill them first.”

Blaze seemed confused, “What do you mean by that?” Ritsuka began to speak, before losing his balance and falling to the floor. Blaze looked alarmed, “What happened?!”

Makoto snickered then glanced down at Ritsuka, who was then unconscious, “It took a lot of his energy to revive you. He’s just sleeping. He’ll be fine by morning.” He picked Ritsuka up, waving his hand at Blaze, signaling him to follow.

Blaze walked behind Makoto, “W-where are you taking me?”

Makoto looked back at him, “Stop acting so afraid. I’m just taking Ritsuka to his bed.” He walked into the bedroom, placing Ritsuka’s sleeping form onto the bed. He then pulled a chair up to his own bed, commanding Blaze to sit there. Blaze obeyed, taking a seat, as Makoto sat on his bed. He waited nervously as Makoto began to speak. “What Ritsuka meant…” he paused, looking over at Ritsuka, “was that when we arrived at the city, everyone was already dead. At least that’s what we thought…” His smile disappeared as he told the story.
