River Of Guilt


It carries a baggage born of decades.

A couple of times first, and then slowly, the evil forces its way through and a habit is formed.

Stagnation, negativity, anger, and frustration are a few names people call it by.

I would say plastic, industrial chemicals and a complete disregard for the entity concerned.

Whatever name you give it, the result is the same – suffocation and death. And mind you, it’s a slow, painful death at that.

Death of your unique being, of your creativity and your joy in life.

Death of the natural flora and fauna, of the storm water drainage.

Freedom of expression, joyful laughter and genuiness – the perfect setting

Colouful fishes, a gushing sound and picnickers – the perfect setting

Rotten, passive and neglected lies my soul.

Thick black and entirely polluted, crippled lies the river.

One day at a time for the self.

One day at a time, with an army of people and Government backup for the Mithi River.
